How many items are there in total in the game?

Recommended Posts

To the best of my abilities I managed to count 897 items in DST which are available from standard survival, counting all their states, events ones, kits, liftable and such.

The question is, do you count items too, that aren't accessible in base game, but can be spawned in via command, like long pig or the useless fully textured fishing net? Do items from the Forge/Gorge count? Do different skins count, since they have a different ID?

When I tried, I didn't take any of that into account. I counted around 900 items, same as @ADM.

Funnily there's a debug command in the game to see this exact thing.

1990 different items!

Some things to note though.

  • Spiced foods are their own seperate prefabs, meaning there's 4 prefabs for regular meatballs, chili meatballs, garlic meatballs, and honey meatballs as one example.
  • Unused/cut/unimplemented items are in this list. Stuff like long pig, teleportato pieces,
  • Seperate blueprint items are generated for each (valid) recipe

Since there's 79 spicable crockpot recipes in the game(amberosia can not be spiced), we can subtract by 237. and there are 312 blueprints that we can also subtract. Giving us a number of 1441 items. Of course we still haven't taken into account unused/cut/unimplemented items. Maybe you also don't want to count every figure sketch as it's own item. This also takes into account the Forge and Gorge and their respective items and so on.

In my defense, salt is utterly forgettable as a spice.(I remember thinking it was a placeholder back in Salty Dog, but noooope, it never changed)

But yes, you are correct haha.

Thanks for answering! Apparently, there are way more than I even imagined, even with the subtractions! :wilson_shocked:
