On that note: Wilbur Mentioned being a “King” & now that the game has a curse that turns people into Monkeys, I’d like to find Wilbur in the world somewhere as an NPC who has reversed his curse & become the actual King he said he was.

I love Wagstaff and i really want to play as him, though i wouldn't be mad nor surprised if they never added him since they already assigned another role for him.

But i still like to imagine what it would be like if Klei decides to make him playable, first off he definitely needs a refresh, not much to explain here, compared to the other DST he's awful, but still i really like his design of limited headslot, though that downside would be a big problem, not only he will have a bad time using Eyebrella and Insulation/Sanity clothes, there's now the new Brightshade armor that calls for the set bonus and (My biggest gripe) the Enlightment crown.

Starting with Spring, his Visor should have 20% rain protection so he can walk with an umbrella, not the best but at least the option is there, i would like to mention this DSA mod that refreshes Wagstaff:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2793208881 i never played with it because i am a console player, but really like the idea of the Electrostatic Capacitador, it rewards the player for being active in Spring so it's not pure misery, really wanted to give an idea for what they could do for DST but this item is just perfect, and since DST have a stronger late game, an Telebrella upgrade would be ideal, craftable either in ruins or the lunar islands the upgrade would grant more wetness protection (90%-100%) more durability, increased walking speed and would be rechargeable with... Something.

For the late game option they could either go with the easy fix (Give Brightshade helmet clear vision) or a tier 2 protection googles, i know it's pretty basic but he needs something that doesn't make whatever FB part 3 is going to be awkward for him, my other option which may or may not even be possible is the new "choose your side" mechanic they are still going to implement.. (i know it looks weird for Wagstaff to choose the darkness side, but he has been interested in Nightmare Fuel and Living Logs since the beginning) this mechanic would grant him a buff to better deal with the new threats.

That's all i could say about what i thing they should do if they ever add him do DST, of course there are a lot more to talk about but at least i gave an idea on how to fix his biggest problems, and on topic of character balancing and character swapping, i think his concepts would still work great with DST even if his mechanics were already implemented somehow, Wanda has a better teleport, definitely, but Wagstaff telepod is cheaper and is still very flexible, you can put a Telepod next to the cave entrance, clear the ruins, build another telepod there and now you have a efficient 2-way teleport for cheap, and the idea of Wagstaff being another switch character like Winona... I'd say it's fine, other characters can't use the teleport and thumper is a good building but people will probably stick to Bearger for wood gathering anyway.
