Allow Wilson To Edit His Skill Tree In-Game

Recommended Posts

What I've found to happen is that after you've chosen Wilson after forgetting to set your skill tree up, you can go ahead and select the skills you want activated.

But the problem is that if I activated the wrong skill by accident, I have no way of undoing that like I do in the character selection screen.

It would be nice if Wilson could edit his skill tree while in-game as the only way to edit your skill tree after choosing Wilson is to setup the Celestial Portal and swap back to Wilson :'(

I wouldn't mind a costly way to change it. It shouldn't be easy or quickly changed whenever you want. As it would just make the skill tree pointless of you can change your perks on a whim.

I want to strategically choose what i want to use for now, knowing that it will be a while before i can change them again.

It'd defeat the purpose of having anything high tier the alchemy tree since you'd just be able to swap to it when it'd be useful.

Then at the very least, having a pre-set for it would be nice, since I always forget each time I start a new world.

not like the perks are impactful enough to make it 'costly', it already is costly.

I would like a new celestial type of craft which is just like the portal idol but to reroll skills only so there’s a slight cost to edit it minus the travel (please make them stackable…), this would mostly be just for Wilson at the time being, but if everyone get them in the future that would be super handy to save time.

Imagine beating Ancient Fuelweaver to unlock the Shadow Courtier perk but then can't change skill points to actually enable it.

Maybe when dead you could reset your skills to select a better loadout for your next life.

Considering his gem crafting abilities I'd say make it cost 3 of every ruins gem type.

Spoiler

Originally I was going to say make it cost a iridescent gem but I don't think I'm ready for another forum storm on the level of the last time this happened...

A tad too much, since all he needs to reset all his perks is 1 lunar stone and 1 purple gem (character reset).

Its only 1 purple gem and a moon rock to reset them at the spawn portal.  I get your concern about a miss click, and since it is pretty easy to access the character swap screen I don't feel its a big step to give him a way to simply reset it in game.  Perhaps it could just cost the purple gem, and that he be near a thematically relevant crafting station?

I feel there has to be some level of commit to the page you're on, so I think tying it to a crafting station like the ancients or lunar one would make it both possible, yet sufficiently out of the way.  Could also let us set a default to start every shard blank if we want?

Yeah, that would be nice. My concern would mainly be for the early game when I haven't setup the portal yet and I misclicked.

It'd get annoying, especially if the world had a potentially nice generation to it and I don't want to delete it outright just to make sure I enable the skills I wanted.
