Attack speed is slower now?

So Was doing some testing recently and noticed a change
The same Was noticed by a few friends of mine too. Being that attacks seem to come out slower than they used to.
They noticed that  they would loose out on an attack on a consistent  kite pattern now more than before.
The clockwork knight you could get 3 hits in and kite the knights attack now  Its almost impossible to get that amount of hits in without getting hit.


 

Go ahead and just try to use the fencing sword on a group of spiders now.. I’ll sit here & wait for you to tell me if it’s even a useable tool anymore.

idk WHY Klei decided to make attacking slower.. but personally I wish they’d speed things up a bit, walking speed, plucking speed, crafting speed, not by like an insane amount or anything… but just enough so that I spend less time watching animations & more time actually getting to play & enjoy the game. I doubt that this was an intentional change, its probably an unintended side effect of whatever they did with the networking. But yes it would be really nice if general gathering was sped up.

I still have literally not noticed a difference to attack speed/ efficiency don't know if it's cause I use action queue. But I played an absurd amount of hours over the weekend and noticed no change. (which is coming from someone whose rhythm gets thrown off by old-age Wanda crafting). And I've been able to still get in 3 hits on knights both on servers I've hosted, pub servers, and other friend's hosted servers.

Idk maybe this is only affecting a certain population of players, I'm curious if anyone else is explicitly not having any changes to their gameplay since Thursday's update.

Same here! I had wanted to test and look into the issue and the code causing said issue for funsies but I could not actually find any difference in my first tests. I'm still able to stunlock werepigs(most of the time, attack speed inconsistency and all that) when it seems like I shouldn't be able to at all if attack speed was slowed down by a frame(?).

thing is the slower speed before which is the fastest speed now was the optimal werepig stun speed.
you can see it if you just attack a werepig with something weak like a fishing rod. you can see how each attack fluctuates on the werepigs hitstun animation.

Just to be clear, this is supposed to mean that mouse click and hold is not faster than space hold anymore. I'd assume that is a long overdue bugfix.

I don't know if the same thing applied to attacking before (mouse hold faster than F) but if that is the case that would be the reason some people don't see the difference.
