Is it incredibly hard to fix a line in the config file? Or are you guys so hard at work you can't even be bothered to fix one line in a server config file. At this point I feel like you guys are purposely spiting everyone that plays klei pubs. However, I never understood the issue because plenty of other server hosters do not have issues getting the basics going for endless servers. That being said, the real answer may be that you should play on a non-Klei hosted endless server. Over the course of the year, you've had tons of issues with the Klei endless servers. They crash for whatever reason by day ~250 and everyone starts from day 1 again. Then what? They'll have to deal with yet another complaint related to their endless servers (and frankly there's not much they can do about it aside from renting from better/more expensive hosters). It's entirely possible they're not being fixed for a reason. There is one but the owners are incredibly controlling and force you to play how they want you to play. They abuse admin all day and kick/ban you if you don't do what they like. There is literally no good servers to play anymore besides hosting my own which I tried for some months but noone can even see my server because of the ??? ping glitch. It is incredibly boring setting up a public server and having noone show up besides people you know. So now I have no other servers to play and i am getting tired of pleading with klei to fix their servers. There is 0 support for anything klei pub related or the bugs related to setting up your own dedicated server. You just want to be able to enjoy the DST endless public experience. Unfortunately, technically Klei doesn't owe us anything outside of a working skin validation server. All I can personally recommend would be the DST Survivors endless servers. They host servers on pretty much every continent and in my experience are friendly and reasonable hosts. Don't Fight Together (survival servers don't reset on death) and Might Beard (no affiliation with the youtuber) are good options too but they're both in Europe. Good luck. dois raios Posted December 2, 2022 Share Posted December 2, 2022 same issue here, there isnt endless servers in my region, and the one that exists, have TONS of mods, I actually tried to play there, but when I joined the server for the second time, my inventory was cleared, and I was using wanda (cant survive without ageless watch), I verified if drop everything when despawning was activated, but it was not, it was problably some mod or my char data just got deleted. So this is why I dont play in endless server that are not from klei, besides some inconviences (that I get used to within time), klei servers were very good, good ping and people actually joining them (except winter and summer, when just few players pop up), it was kinda funny if autumn happened in a peak hour like 6pm to 11pm, literally the moment the server join autumn, up to 6 people could enter at the same time. I dont think klei is doing it on purpose, I guess they have so many things to do, that forget about endless servers, when they remember that endless servers need to be fixed, I hope they will fix it. I hate this feature. the most annyoing thing in survival pubs are that anyone can enter and reset the server, like, if they actually reset the server to play, I wouldnt blame them, but they do it for fun i guess, so I liked endless because of this (and also bc of other things). The fact that only people who actually play some days in the endless server can reset it is a good thing, because if they played enough and want to restart, they can and they should be able to, you are not locked in the same world forever, so it is fair. Meanwhile in survival pubs, it is just the server regeneratiing again and again forever, some servers dont even last past winter, while endless could survive more than 4 years easily if there were no bugs nor updates. It's definitely not a fix for both problems (poor choice of pubs to play and ??? issue), but it might be ok-ish workaround. Depending on your mod and worldgen preferences, aside from mentioned DFT, Mighty Beard and DST survivors servers I can advertise the one I'm playing at right now. Server is hosted in UK, has some QoL mods (cleaning mod, lazy furnace, beefalo tamed no poop, terrarium targets closest player), some game changing mods (force biomes with triple mac tusk, killer bee and some ruins biomes turned on (forced to spawn), extra deciduous, second meteor field, mixed mushroom forest and mixed mushroom meadow are turned off), some flavor mods (default dance, Maxwell's coat) and one mod that makes learning game easier (that shows beefalo stats while one rides it). Server is endless; even though last update made some non-default settings default (issue is in the process of being solved) at least for those who are content with default settings it's viable option to play on. "Charlie's Dream" is the name, if anyone is interested.
