[Suggestion] Forget-me-lots spawning in the world

Recommended Posts

Forget-me-lots are now required for 2 crockpot recipies, but the only way to get them is from farms. I think wanting weeds to grow on your farm makes no sense. They should be more common, I suggest making them spawn in the world like flowers, not just on farms. Maybe the soothing tea should be nerfed a bit with this change too.

I like the idea of weeds and other plants growing in the wild, maybe at specific locations if nothing else. I think most weeds should drop seeds as well, I mean they are plants like fruit and vegetables, why wouldn't they.

Not that I expect realism from a game like this. Just my two cents.

The tillweed is good for woodie but only because moose is bad. I'm sure some woodie players would appreciate that. Why it spoils? No idea. Harder to get than normal salve, heal 8 health more but slower. Totally no reason for it to spoil.

Fire Nettles are good for winter clothing users who are not wormwood who's immune to it. If it was easier to get it would make viable alternative to thermal stone.

The Lord of the Flies exists. With it, weeds can be spawned non-stop without any cost aside from a hoe, and that boss itself is not that hard to spawn. So the idea of nerf sounds weird considering how easy it is to get forget-me-lots now, they are already super common. Although I don't mind if they appear somewhere else, it is a weed after all. Just to point out that it's not difficult to farm them as it is. The only difficulty associated with them is getting rid of all the excessive forget-me-lots when you're trying to get other weeds.

How would that work though? They bolt if u dont harvest them in time.

If the world spawned one on the other side of the map chances are it would have bolted by the time u find it.
and how would their spreading mechanic work? Would they just spread endlessly and bolt across the map since they arent contained by farm soil?
When wormwood plants a wild one it doesnt spread and after it bolt it becomes useless. Bolted flowers on farmplots still have the ability to sprout fresh ones near it.

like lokena said if weeds r what u want fruitfly lord makes them super abundant.

And even without it, digamajigs are super cheap. Make a patch away from ur main farm and keep only the weeds that sprout.
1 forgetmelots is all u need to have ur patch covered in them after some days. Especially in spring And ull easily get more than 1 from planting some wild seeds.

the other weeds can be propagated the same way.

There is even easier method for me. Make a few giant crops and let them spoil

I think a "weed" monster/creature would be a better implementation. Something akin to elder mandrakes or mushgnomes.

Maybe a forget-me-lots pixie like flabébé.flabebe.thumb.jpg.174ce7bebce3f75d41622b4a41ea6987.jpg

I've wanted more life scattered around the constant after the moonstorm event.

They could spawn where there's a lot of dead space like the savannah. If you kill them you just get flower petals. You have to capture them with a net but they're super fast.

Something like that, idk.

I think the lord of the flies is more controllable because he's territorial and always tied to one spot? Plus if I'm not mistaken, small flies attack the player if they are not tied to the lord. That, and the lord arrives even if the harvest is not giant, and at the moment when the plants grow, not when they spoil, so it's technically faster? But to each their own.

I just want to occasionally find them in a nomadic playstyle (one that taming a beefalo encourages already), instead of dedicating time to farming stacks of them specifically. They don't need the same mechanics as those growing on the farm, but can instead be like carrots - just spawn randomly in a harvestable stage and stay there until picked.
