Hallowed Nights

Now that we have giant pumpkins in the game I hope they add pumpkin carving for some really cool creepy jack-o-lantern decor.

I always wanted the extra pumpkins that are added for event to be on vines that come alive on the new moons as jack-o-lanterns slowly creeping twords your base at night. Any new creepy content would be a welcome addition to this event imo

I'd love to hear any of your ideas to make this event come to life.

Maybe other flora and mobs could morph into  nightmare forms of themselves

I wish that the events of Halloween and Christmas were as elaborate as the lunar year and the summer cawnival, with more than just decorations, maybe some activities or any special boss (jack'o lantern? headless horseman?)

But at least we have this events, so I'm happy ^^

This, but with a way to get lumpy or petrified evergreen trees in there. I would suggest a moon tree too, but I guess it won't fit in a pot... Oh well. We need more trees!

I've got a shameless advertising suggestion for you if you have nothing against nice mods (or don't play on pc :() as I have done that very thing for a Hallowed Night themed mod which adds another carnival to build with its own minigames, one of the prize you can get is the Gravekeeper Toolbox which allows you to place, remove and even refill graves. Hope it helps and gives you some fun times, cause I've sure been graveyard building with that thing since the last year :)

How to tell it’s close to Hallowed Nights? When Mike23Ua is more active on the forum then usual :lol: No joke this really is my favorite time of year, and I hope there’s some cool skins or maybe even a Terraria Crossover Part 2 coming. I even sent Klei a message at the start of September that Spooky Season had begun.

As soon as the grocery stores start stocking Halloween candies & decorations it’s spooky season baby woooooo!! 
Ive don’t have any cool ideas to add to the thread.. I provided years worth of hallowed nights suggestions already, and unfortunately the event seems to never get any cool changes.

I have since then come to accept that Klei does not view Hallowed Nights as special enough as Winters Feast or Cawnival, Even the Year of Events have gotten more interactive appropriately spooky content.

The Terraria update maybe could’ve been considered new hallowed nights stuff.. (maybe) but it just doesn’t have that WF feel to it Aka- chasing down Gingerpig, smashing their homes for exclusive rewards, using those rewards to create unique decorations etc.

There are some great PC mods for things like trick or treating and haunted houses, and even really cool reskinned spooky boss designs, but none of that is official gameplay content.

Mad Science lab should mutate more stuff- 

I will now shamelessly plugged someone’s Hallowed Nights mod artwork here as just the tiniest example of how to “Spookify” Hallowed Nights-

They heard my plea’s for this a year ago… they know we want something cool done with Hallowed Nights. 

Please, please, Klei, add something new and spooky this Halloween! It doesn't have to be something big, just some reskins would be cool. Examples: The Screecher for Klaus, the scrapped butcher-pig for pig guards and a creepier shadowhand for my love the stagehand.

Wickerbottoms rework added the ability to permanently spam full moons, so I don’t think it would be too hard to make Hallowed Nights a permanent full moon cycle.

Theres some cool creepy stuff that happens in DST during the moon phase, such as pigs becoming Werepigs or ghosts coming out of their graves to freely roam around, or decapitated heads on sticks reanimating back to life- these are all already existing features in the game..

And it perfectly sets the tone for Halloween themed content.

So my suggestion is to (During Hallowed Nights World settings Only..) be able to permanently lock the game to an endless full moon phase.

Theres already some decent appropriately spooky things that happen during a full moon in DST.. so why not just double down on that?? Maybe failed survivor skeletons (both set piece versions and player created from dying) have a Random chance to reanimate to life as a spooky skeleton, maybe it can be an easy to kill mob.. 

Maybe they can be attacked, fall apart into a bone pile and reactivate themselves after laying deactivated for a bit.

Come on Klei if the next update starts Beta in October… it’s time to think SPOOKY :ghost:

No, you misread the part where I said Woodies Transformations would be rendered ineffective (without eating his transformation idols) in a game world that is permanently locked to full moon.

Otherwise: You’d just be one of his transformations 24/7 and never change out.

So there is no way to fight Shadow Pieces during Hallowed Nights.

I mean.. can you fight them in worlds where time of day is set to no dusk, no night and 24/7 daylight or no day, no dusk, 24/7 nightfall?

The biggest reason I want full moons on hallowed nights is because it guarantees every pig is running around as a transformed werewolf, Ghosts are out of their graves freely roaming around haunting stuff, and even dead heads on sticks reanimate to life.

It is an appropriately spooky Halloween theme.

Maybe I’m missing something here but as of a previous QOL update players can at any time exit their game worlds toggle on/off a few settings and relaunch their game world with those changes applied. It only takes a few seconds & your done.

I don’t know how things work on Klei Official/Dedicated Servers- Because XBOX has never had them: So I am going to Assume that Klei decided they weren’t even an important feature to have.

And from the stories people tell about them: They are like the Wild West where anything goes, and most worlds get reset after 800 or so game days.

In short: Klei could probably save a lot of money by just getting rid of them altogether.

It is not my job to figure out how gameplay features/mechanics work for features my version of the game has never even had… 

But if I had to guess- they would have some servers where the event is toggled on, and some where the event was left inactive.

This is the same as Apex Legends or Fortnite getting a limited time mode to fit the appropriately spooky season of the year.
