marcy115
After about 800 hours in the game i now just found out that i can make my own custom wormhole pair useing telelocator staff and focci. 10 minutes later i discovered that it only works on the surface world. Why is that? What mechanic is stopping me from directly teleporting from my cave base to the atrium? JK i know it sounds really OP but i am actually curious about the mechanic of the telelocator thingys and it seems like there are no threads or youtube videos that talk about it. Losparkeros
If I recall correctly, in DS Alone, using telelocator focus caused earthquake instead of teleporting player, and that was the case since introducing said item. In DST earthquake trigger was removed, but telelocator still doesn't work. Why? I guess that was original intent of developers for some reason. Captain_Rage
Since the Telelocator makes it rain and lightning to strike its magic might be reliant on the sky. The Lazy Deserter works in the caves and its animation shows the character getting engulfted by sand from under the earth. Perhaps they rely on different kinds of magic? :pp Restricing instant access to the atrium, like you mentioned, and lore implications might be the reasons. It has a very nice flair to it that some of the more powerful magics work different depending in which environment of The Constant they are invoked. You can still cause them and a bunch of rocks will fall where the lightning is trying to hit. 2 hours ago, marcy115 said: i am actually curious about the mechanic of the telelocator thingys It's all in the Lightning! Whenever you use the telelocator staff lightning strikes down, however it hits the surface of the caves instead, hence the small earthquake. Cheggf
I always thought the idea was that you travelled through the lightning. It can't reach you underground so it makes some rumbles instead cause it's hitting the ceiling.
