On the contrary to the somewhat negative title of this post it's not another rant about Wickerbottom getting only books and still being boring because of no uNiQuE mEcHaNiC or a post about how Maxwell should suddenly forget how to read/use magic.
I enjoy Wickerbottom (as I always have), but all her refresh is targeting is her gameplay potential and she still lacks that little color (probably because of low sanity color cubes, but what do I know...), hence the title.

So I suggest a little different book...

This post is inspired by a comment under newest video of DemonRebuilt "11 Books to Rule the World - Wickerbottom Refresh, Explained (Also sneaky Wortox Update)":

 

Do you remember Wurt's short? If not here are crucial parts I base this idea on:

Here we can see Wickerbottom reading a book to Wendy and Webby.

Here we can see Wickerbottom having a blast reading the book to others.

Here we can see it's none of her in-game books, but a book full of suspiciously familiar children stories!

And so I want to state a petition to add a Fairy Tale Book, which Wickerbottom could read to her fellow Survivors to soothe their weathered nerves (in a similar manner Walter tells his annoying amazing story near a campfire).

Book itself should have a somewhat easy recipe, so usual 2 Papyrus and some Petals and/or Butterfly Wings.

Think of this book as a group Straw Roll - an aura of let's say 20-25 Sanity per minute (Straw Roll restores 40 and Walter's storytelling 10, so it's a nice middleground for one use of a Book), which would also help Wickerbottom refill her massive brain (reading this book could also drain hunger to set a lower limit of restored Sanity per use).

I didn't see anyone mention it before, but new Book Case restoring all books' durability makes it a free sanity station for Wurt, which I consider a fun and, to be honest, quite powerful symbiosis between those two characters. If someone knows numbers of sanity gained or lost by Wurt after reading newly added books I would appreciate such information.

It would be really good, the way the storyteller thing of Walter has been done really do let the ability to set up different mode of story based on other entities used than firepits (anyway if it wasn’t, can be tweaked), so this should be easy to welcome the perk, certain survivors already do share similar perks and the conditions of a special book to me seems really fitting. I think I would however like it to be a little faster as for the regenerate part to be as practical than more book and not be a slow waiting build up, should be nice, looking forward it !

I think it would make it more fun if we took a bit from sleepy time stories. So she reads a tale but it's somehow boring yet comforting - this puts the listening survivors into the same state as if induced by gestalt: they yawn and fall asleep losing a bit of hunger and gaining sanity

That sounds like griefing. idea in the original post is much better.

Yes but only under one condition… she does not tell actual stories and it’s just a Sanity Regen AoE, I HATE Walter just for his Campfire stories.. I hate how obnoxious that gets.. and how many times it intensifies when there’s multiple Walters on the server.

Most annoying thing ever… and I don’t want a bunch of Wickers doing the same thing. 
 

Starvers Carol Emote I’m fine with- because it’s not the same annoying instrument sound and lines of text.

In fact: I would fully welcome more Starvers Carol Emote style songs- such as a Pirate Sea Shanty, or a new WintersFeast Carol, Maybe even this suggestion Wickerbottoms book could work like that-

She just reads “twinkle twinkle little star” and soothes Wurt to sleep.

OMG, all of this is what I've been thinking!!! Especially the part about wurt! Since the characters all have fun quotes for her books, especially the children, it would be amazing if Wickerbottom could read to the other survivors!!!

I really like this idea, however I’m not 100% sold on it. One of wickerbottom’s downsides is struggling with sanity thanks to all of her books costing sanity to use. I like this, I think having to be more conscious about sanity is a fun way to switch up wickerbottom gameplay. However, this book nullifies this downside a bit, and now instead of wickerbottom players having to spend more time and resources into managing their sanity they can just use this book and get it back easily.
