TeKno667 Posted July 3, 2022 Share Posted July 3, 2022 Hey, did You have some ideas to farm the pirates raids. Since they stole a part of my stuff, and the catpain's tricorn looks very cool. In 15 days of game time (day 150+), i only got raided one when i sail near the moon quay island, the loot i retreive was.... ugh... I tried to stay still in a boat, but it semms that it doesn't trigger the raid, If you have any idea, it will be awesome !! Giving bananas to the queen disables it for a while, I believe. For killing them, get creative. It couldn't stay as it was before, you'd get a second raid before even picking up the loot from the first one, and the same for the third, fourth... It was way too much. But as for farming, if you found monkeisland already, going to the nearest piece of mainland close to the island and placing a boat with just an anchor will trigger their raids safely, hop on the boat, wait to get raided, either kill them or place something close to the boat that can kill them, jump back to the mainland. Profit! You don't need to be sailing, just standing on a bare boat inside the monkeisland radius is enough to trigger a raid. If it's too far away from the mainland however... well friend, you now can build docks and get as close as possible. I've visited Moon Quay Island twice now to get a bunch of the new resources and have roughly 20 of each (palmcone, banana bush and monkey tails). Also realised Cutless's are absolutely useless and just used them all as fuel, also really bothers me that they're pretty much never at 100% because the monkeys use a bit of the durability themselves. The bandanas are neat and the free skins we got are pretty dope but I need an actual raid so I can get the blueprint for the new Captain's Tricorn. I do however have a ton of plans I want to work on for dock areas, strategically placed trawlers nets and cannon set ups so the new update has given me a ton of stuff I want to work on in my long term world but yeah no raids as of yet which is a little lame. If you don't mind the Moon Quay Island being a little bit more bare I just hammered down a whole ton of their flags for when I eventually do get the Tricorn blueprint. Just so I'm not missing out on anything can anyone confirm that all the new stuff to obtain in the new update is as follows: Tricorn Hat, Cutless's and Bandanas from Monkeys, Monkey tails Banana Bushes and Monkey Tails from the portal, Gears from the broken machinery, Cannon Cannonball Dock and Moon Quay Turf blueprints from the Queen and the weird Magnet things. There isn't anything I'm missing right? I made a whole ton of the Shell Bumpers but you can't place them on edges of boats that already have structures on them.. I want to destroy all my current boats and make new ones with bumpers, the new skins for the lightning rod attachment thing/light attachment for the masts and cannons but the problem is that destroying any structure already on a boat with a hammer puts a goddamn hole in the boat so if I want to get all my resources back while replacing my boats I have to use a ton of boat patches up in the process.. anyone know a better/faster way to pull my boats apart and remake them as I want without it being so tedious? Also can you just put the Fishing Trawler things on the permanent schools of deep sea bass for maximum profit? If so I have an area with three or four all super close that I generally use to spawn and fight Malbatross without much chance of failure of her appearing. If I can put a bunch of Trawlers down there its going to be a pretty amazing fish farm! Well the save is corrupt and now crashes the game when I attempt to play it. Anchors and Tin Fishing Bin's make actual holes in the boat when they are constructed so they leave them behind when hammered, causing leaks. Thematically a neat detail, maybe a bit annoying gameplay wise. Anyways as long as you leave structures such as those last you should be able to hammer and get back all your resources without the boat being destroyed until you're ready to rebuild. Mike23Ua Posted July 4, 2022 Share Posted July 4, 2022 You guys ever seen pirate/ heist movies where they have too much stollen loot on board their ship/vehicle and it moves much slower while trying to get away so they have to eventually throw some of the loot or crew overboard to go faster? This mechanic should work on pirate raids, the more stuff they steal the slower they should sail while trying to get away.. If you get to the loot and it's already above ground, digging the X causes the game to crash. Its Probably already been made aware of. Although it only corrupted my save once every other time has just caused the game to crash. Hmmmmm yeah might've just been beyond the PS4's capability...=( I upgraded to ps5 a while ago and my god the difference in DST. I might still hold on off those Treasure Marks for now until we get another patch/update. Jonathan42 Posted July 6, 2022 Share Posted July 6, 2022 I set up a teleport point on moon quay island, I play as Wanda. You can use a telelocator focus or just sail to moon quay island though. I put down an empty boat with open water that they can come from, and just stand there. It is the place with the highest spawn rate for them. It takes around a day for me to get a raid. When I do get a raid, I use a pan flute and than kill the leader so they can't get away. After that I run the others back into some tooth traps, and houndius shootius I use to clear the portal monkeys. You can use whatever you want to deal with them. catapults, bunnymen, or just take them out on your own. Don't forget to hammer their flag down before letting the boat despawn. Not when they are trying to kill me anyway. I have the island walled into lots of parts. So random monkeys can't get to them, or anything else really. It was the first thing I did there. So I could build in pace, and to never have to worry about getting attacked at random.
