After playing a lot of the beta I would love to share some suggestions that I came across during gameplay. Fish currently get stuck on the docks, any chance they can go underneath it, the same way as they go under the boat? This would be especially good for the use of fish nets, especially on close dock circuits. Cannons, any chance the characters can hold onto the cannon and fire with the right click for aim? At the current stat, aiming is just way too hard to even be worth it while on the boat, but a right-click aim option might make it insanely better. Monkey Curse, is it really necessary for the curse to stun-lock as well? When we are getting raided by 3 Monkeys + Captain, between their hits and the curse you get stun-locked quite a lot. I think the curse on itself transforming you at 10,forcing you to have bananas and go to the island to de-curse you, locking you out of an inventory slot, would be punishment enough. Just a thought. Polly, Would it be possible to have a button on the hat or Polly to disable her from picking up stuff and just be a passive bird? Also any chance Polly can pick more stuff that is surrounding her, especially if it's the same item she picked first, before she comes back to us? Any possibility for Pinch Winch and Fish Bin to work on the Docks the same way as it works on the boat? Pinch Winch would allow us to drop Nutts in squares where a boat doesn't fit, and bins would make sense just to store the fish after long trips or from the fish farms themselves. Would look thematically good as well. Dock Posts and Banner, currently are impossible to build at the edges, and the banners have an insanely big hitbox for building, any chance we can get that reduced? I figure the Banners have the same hitbox as a Sign which is also insanely big for what it is. Any chance that if we transform to Wonkey we get to build the new Monkey Huts? Some of us are crazy enough to want those annoying monkeys closer, for some reason... Beach Turf currently has Monkey sounds, which if you don't have monkeys in feels a bit weird, even confusing if you are on their island, makes you think a new Monkey spawned or that you might have missed one. Can't the Monkey sound be tied to the Huts and the monkeys themselves? Maybe have a Beach Coast sound like for example the Shell Beach Turf? Any chance to have some better goodies being added to the Pirate Map treasures, so we can hunt for those without it being only to get our loot back? Would make another really good incentive to seek pirates and their island. Finally, Trident. The trident is good, especially for his right-click, but I would love to have a weapon that would be unmatched at sea only. In Shipwrecked the Trident had 102 Damage, can we at least have it hitting harder than any other weapon in DST? Would look thematically good as well. Haven't had the chance to play the beta myself but from what I've seen this is the most obvious thing people (including myself) expect. cybers2001 Posted June 23, 2022 Share Posted June 23, 2022 How about for the cannons, we get a reticle that swings left and right just like the cannon from the Cawnival event? Would still restrict movement and require the rudder to an extent, but it would serve as a way to reuse a gameplay mechanic that already exists (plus it becomes a skill that's transferrable from the cawnival event, itself). I make them and because of how rare gnarwails/gnarwail horns are they then sit in a chest and I don't ever really use them cause I don't want to 'waste' them. Uprooting kelp is imo their best use.. There is so much potential in this update and also some old features like the trident, would be sad to not use it. I don't really understand the building limitations on decorative items, I hope so much that gets changed. I hope Klei makes this update as great as it could be, even they already did an amazing job with it (thank you Klei if you read this ).
