Why does 7 slots encourage diversity more than 6

The core divergence : "Players have different favorite combinations", compared with "Players change their circuit combinations from time to time, but all in a same way", which one reflects the value of diversity and choice more?

 

What do we have with 6 slots?

I didn't list those combinations focus on stats, but obviously they also have their supporters.

The point is, would it be better that we choose Diversity for all over Diversity for selfs? If others could fall in love with a brand new cobination, later we might do too.

Even if we keep our favorite to the last, it's still feels good to discuss our diffrent choices to others, so the point here is not "who persuaded who to use the Right Combination", but "make more combinations possible, make more Favorite Combination In Hope real"

 

With 7 slots you can get rid of everything except no 1 and 2 since you aren't listing equivalent suboptimal choices in the 6 slot category. 6 slots already provides plenty of choice and 7 would just limit it since the 3 slot circuits are strong individually and would stack with 2 speed incredibly well.

Those who always train a beefalo in early game doesn't need speed circuit, I'm one of those.

So now you've got a temp circuit and night vision instead of a temp circuit and light. That's not more creativity, that's just a buff.

You say, after including literally 1 combination without the speed circuit with 6 slots. It's not even one that a beefalo rider would want since even if it does proc on your beef you don't want to tank with such a squishy and expensive mount. You've listed no temp circuits, no light circuits, nothing but speed circuits even when you can make very similar combos to the ones you've listed under 7.

this guy didn't play the new WX for more than 10 days

illumination circuit is now 3 pins as well

we have many 1 pin circuits now too

other than 1 and 2, you can do the rest with 6 pins just fine.

Really, the only major boon to having 7 slots is being able to use 2x speed, or night vision, with a three slot circuit. Adding that one extra slot only adds unnecessary power, any variety it would add can either be replicated with lesser circuits, or is just not as strong. There is no killer combo that a 7 slot can do that a 6 slot can't. All the 7 slot exclusive builds either: have two speed, is slightly stronger version of an existing build, or has night vision with a three pin circuit. Night vision can just be replaced by the now 3 pinned light circuit. Yes, it is weaker by far, but it's equivalent and lets you use a three pin circuit with it, while only using 6 pins.

And if living without night vision is just such a make or break thing, then just use moggles, actual moggles. Its always available and uses no circuit slots, can even use 3x speed with it.

Im not an expert in dst statistics, but i think that there are A LOT less beef tamers then there are regular players:/

You dont actually have to TAME a Beefalo anymore.. I guess this is the part most people are lost on lol..

But as of Year of the Beefalo you only need to make a Beefalo Bell and bond to your new Boofy friend, after that- just slap a saddle on its back and hop on (give it a few sticks/grass to eat if it’s hungry) after riding for a bit it will fling you off to the ground (it’ll continue to do this until it’s fully tamed) each time it throws you off, the time it takes until you get thrown off again goes up until it’s fully tame and no longer throws you off at all. While riding your Beefalo- It also counts as taming, so you need not do anything but ride it… You can also pick grass, saplings, and carrots, etc while riding them now so literally the only time you ever need to get off is if you want to chop trees, mine boulders or build a campfire.

Beefalo taming is one of the easiest things to do in this game now, prior to YoTB it was one of the hardest things to do…

But NOW I would say building a Boat and fully upgrading it with all its available upgrades (steering wheel, anchor, mast, lightning conductor, Deck Illuminator, Tin Fishing Bin, Pinch Winch) is significantly harder and more time consuming then getting yourself a fuzzy little speed boost.

Thank you for your definitive explanation of beefalo taming Mike, I, as a Wendy main myself, is quite familiar with it, and although I appreciate you spending your time writing me this masterpiece, I unfortunately have to inform you that it does not disprove my point of beefalo taming being not as popular as other styles of survival, as most characters benefit from their unique perks while off the fluffy beast
