Further testing on recent WX changes

New changes are excellent. We are arriving in the endgame.

 

The only changes I wish to suggest:

- Winona gemerator is too strong for charging. It charges 6 times for 1 gem. It should be 3-4 times per gem. Gems can be quite cheap to get and right now it is the best method to charge by far.

- Make jimmy right click option to be deploy

- Maxwell NEEDS to have his sanity drained by WX chorusbox. I want to chase WXs in my pubs. Please, I beg you.

- Super-hardy circuit should require a TRAPPED NURSE SPIDER instead of 2 glands. Just to make it clear what you need to scan.

- Does gastrogarian circuits give hunger reduction? If so, they should say in the text somehow. I am confused on them.

- Gastrogarian circuits give odd numbers of boosts: +25 max hunger for small one, +70 hunger for big one. I guess this is because default hunger is 130, to make it round up to 200 hunger, but I would still prefer more consistent numbers and scaling. For instance, health one gives +50 and +150. Super processing gives +40 and +100 respective. Numbers are all over the place and hard to remember. Can there be a logic to it? Simple scaling, like small one is +X, big one is +3X, and more round numbers would help.

- I suggest these numbers with 1X-3X scaling:

[Health +50, +150]

[Gastro +25, +75] (and make default hunger 125), also with hunger reduction if you have that still in the game (mentioned)

[Sanity +25, +75] (and it also gives sanity regen from my testing, which is good; regen should scale linearly 1X, and 2X based on circuit size)

And have WX stats be 125/125/150 or 100/100/150

- Beanbooster (royal jelly circuit) is now the 3rd circuit in the HEALTH progression. I think there is potential to add some "3rd" ultimate circuits for the gastro, and health circuit paths, for 3 pins. My suggestion:

Metabolism circuit: 3 pins, 8 biodata, bearger fur, Super-Gastrogarian circuit

[Gives 50% hunger drain reduction]

Nanobot circuit: 3 pins, 8 biodata, 3 barnacles, super-sturdy circuit

[Gives 15% damage reduction]

- Make charging rate depend on hunger

[0-25% hunger, no charge]

[25%-75% hunger, normal charge]

[75%-100% hunger, double charge rate, double hunger drain]

- The chorus box circuit range is actually quite small (like half a tile last time I tested). I think it should be a range of 2 tiles (non-stackable)

 

 

EDIT1, from new hotfix:

- Wetness now is 9 damage every 4 seconds after you cross 20 wetness, which shouldn't be the case. it should scale as such:

20 wetness 2 damage every 4 seconds

40 wetness 4 damage every 4 seconds

60 wetness 6 damage every 4 seconds

80 wetness 8 damage every 4 seconds

100 wetness 10 damage every 4 seconds

Easy to understand and remember. Maybe even add the steps visually on the wetness orb.

 

EDIT2: Wetness was fixed.

 

Overall, the new plier changes and the small circuits gives us great options and versatility. Illumination circuit is great value for 3 pins, and light range is huge. I like the bigger wetness downside as well. Optoelectric recipe nerf to use firefly was a great choice for balancing the recipe.

You'll want to tell the mod author to fix that.

The Wx leg is a seperate UI element so that it overlays ontop of the MOTD UI while everything else is behind pretty cute I say. It's like they're resting their leg on it.

I have informed the mod author.

I agree with some of your opinions. And I think as a mechanical creature with binary coding as the core, WX's body is composed of metal and his soul is composed of code.

My suggestions for his stats are binary numbers 32, 64 and 128. These three numbers can be arranged into the stats 1.0 , the stats 2.0 and the initial stats respectively.

If so, it perfectly indicates that WX's soul is compiled by binary code.

the hardy circuit = 64 hp.   the super-hardy circuit = 128 hp

the processing circuit = 32 sanity.  the super-processing circuit = 64 sanity

the gastrogain circuit = 32 hunger.  the super-gastrogian circuit = 64 hunger.

maybe higher binary numbers but they totally should use that, is a nice touch

Anywho, I think the 128 stats all across the board would be a cute idea! Though I can see it being confusing doing the math when thinking about stat upgrades and the such.

Don't give Klei any ideas. They always go overboard with puns and corny humor, I don't want them to go in the realm of numbers next. :cry:

Maxwell having basically negated sanity drain would still be nice, as I would be able to equip shadow sword/armor to go insane without having to rely on green caps. Also dusk/night/cave drain would contribute.

Because of the sanity reservation, I don't need to stay in negative aura much to go insane for a quick farm on the go.
