Nogard78
To my knowladge they aren't obtainable in game. They probably were planned to be a part of DLC but for some reason were not officially added. And they were not removed from planting menu so they are still visible. Such a shame really, they would have been a good addition to water planet, a fun new way to multiplay water. You can still spawn them in sandbox mode though, they might even work alright, but I don't know. Mayby someday they will be added or someone will make a mod. Sasza22
I saw them shown in the graphic for the desert biome: From the datamining thread Somehow it didn`t make it in though. blueberry pi
It works, well yes but actually no, it consumes 65 kg of polluted water, 5 kg of sand per cycle and 8.333... g of oxygen per second even if wild. when harvested it produces 350 kg of water, it needs 10 cycles to grow domestically. It's supposed to filter polluted water without power or pipes but it just deletes water, 350 kg produced divided by the growth time, 35 kg per cycle produced, 65 kg consumed. It seems like it needed balancing to be added but in its current state it still works, when it's wild it produces slightly more water than it consumes in oxygen (3 kg and some hydrogen if electrolyzed). I'm currently testing if it can mutate because it generates seeds when harvested. But I see opportunities in this humble plant, it thought about it generating water to keep a duplicant breathing in space with the exuberant mutation and a wild hydrocactus. Maybe if we ask kindly enough it will be added in a later update, I'll keep testing in the meantime. When planted without any growth boosts it just gives less water then it takes, but with exuberant mutation, farmer's touch and grubgrub rub we could get x10 growth speed, so theoretically we give it 65kg of pwater and get back 350kg of water, at a cost of some sand and oxygen. Pretty neat with an option to scale it up. A few weeks ago I wanted to just spawn a few seeds using sandbox and use them in my world, so I went to my sandbox world and saw that they have kind of unpolished artwork and really low rad requierments(like decor plants, sth like 2200), so I assumed that it would be best to not play with them in case of something going wrong. I just assumed they were unfinished... Sadly. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/136781-hydrocactus/#findComment-1531175 Share on other sites

Without the farm station, wild hydro-cactus is slightly water positive, just takes forever to grow. I hope it eventually makes it into the game, I like the concept. I rather like asteroids where you have to create your own water supplies instead of relying on geysers.
