Guys, I just got the LUCKIEST and UNLUCKIEST world of all time.

Recommended Posts

Basically, I wanted to start a world in DST where I would try to limit cheating. So I started it, and basically right next to my spawn I found a walking cane, super lucky, right? Sadly, I haven't found any grass yet so I just begin circling around the map because I might stumble on a savannah biome. and I did... but then in a very sad moment, I realized something... this world... it was a grass gecko world...

I love grass geckos... Free grass with a shorter gathering animation.

I hate twiggy trees, they take a while before you can get to the free twigs but then they're good.

I don't like or hate juicy berries, I use to think that the amount you get more than made up for the short spoil time. Not anymore, they're horrible travel rations, but I like how they look visually. They also take forever to grow.

They are mostly meant has filler tbh.

The main reason i never play gecko worlds is because it makes the overworld look empty and ugly :crushed:

juicy berrybush worlds are awesome for beef rushing and essential when playing Wickerbottom imo.

All my beefalo love eating splinters.

I think my biggest issue is the spoil time. I'm usually in the ruins with my beef by day 6-8 and by then all the juicy berries are spoiled.

Yeah when ur going spelunking u wont get much mileage out of a stack of juicies.

I love using them above ground to raise hunger when i need to do stuff off the beef for a bit. I mostly only harvest them as i need them.

On the flipside the fast spoilage can be awesome for early rot.

The way you're supposed to use juicy berries is by not picking them till you need them, as i believe they only spoil when not on the vine.

Spoiler

Juicy berry world also has like 2 bushes of regular berries in the caves if you for whatever reason need the regular kind, if you ever want juicy berries in a reg berry world, you're out of luck unless you cheat or make a loot world which is like a dedicated server thing (which is impossible on console and some would consider that cheating also)

The way I plan the game usually means I have a pretty pre-determined inventory.

Stoping to get juicy berries just to fill my hunger means I have to take a lot of things into a account, my current inventory space, my current hunger, my future inventory space, how much food I currently have and how much food I plan to have as well as time and where I am on the map.

For example, in my inventory I'll usually end up with 20 carrots and 8-12 monster meat. Those are my provisions before going underground and having to look for juicy berries as I move around the world just when I'm hungry would be too disruptive. I rather just ignore them.

If I do happen on them and I'm low on hunger then I may eat some if I don't forget.

Fair enough. The only real time i have a plan in mind and know what i need to get and do, is when i'm ruins rushing.

otherwise it's basically just: "make a base before winter and don't die."
