It's that time of year to nominate for the steam awards

Recommended Posts

We can once again nominate DST for the Labor of Love award this year! Go here to nominate it. Of course you can always vote for other games, but I for one have put so much into this game that it's one of my most played games. I appreciate all the updates that were added since its release and I think this game deserves it. Also if you care about steam badges, you can leave a review (or update your current review) after nominating to upgrade your badge.

As a reminder, here's a list of what was added in 2021:

  • Year of the Beefalo (Feb 4)
  • March QoL Update for worldgen settings (Mar 11)
  • Wes Character Update (Apr 1)
  • Eye of the Storm Update (May 5)
  • Midsummer Cawnival (Jun 3)
  • Webber Character Update (Jun 24)
  • Waterlogged (Aug 12)
  • Wanda Character Update (Sept 9)
  • October QoL Update with global pause, chat options (Oct 21)
  • An Eye for an Eye - Terraria Crossover event (Nov 18)

After the rework for Wolfgang, they'll meet their roadmap for the year

I think it’s equally important to detail what all those updates changed for the game rather then just describing the name of the update.

For example: Year of the Beefalo added the Beefalo Bell, Beefalo Wardrobe as permanent additions to the game so you can now bond Beefalo to you and take it with you everywhere you go including into caves, AND you can now dress them up in completely free outfits.

Marches QoL update allowed you to choose how little, how much or none at all of just about every mob, resource or feature of the game spawns, In Addition- it also allowed you to exit your already created worlds and toggle back ON already passed events: So NOW even limited time content is permanent gameplay content, which for Xbox Players means we can go back and play the Year of the Gobbler and Year of the Varg events that ended before the game ever came out for our console.

Those two updates ALONE should win them Labor of Love.

Don't count on it getting the award tho.

It's always some ridiculous community choice that wins that is a far cry from the "Labor of Love" criteria..

Well, the developers of Terraria appreciated DST enough to want to collab with Klei.. I consider that way better then any “Labor of Love” award anyway. :)

On side note. It's a pretty hard choice for me to vote between Terraria and Don't Starve Together for the Labor of Love

Well if people on Xbox could vote, that choice is a no contest- Terraria still doesn’t have the DST update on Xbox. Klei got the update out on All platforms and all within about 30 minutes of each other.

That’s no easy feat due to all the certification processes they have to go through and unexpected delays.

Yes I’m aware the awards are for steam- but I’m just saying if console players WERE allowed to vote: We would be highly disappointed with the whole no update for Terraria yet.

(personally I gave up hope of it coming anytime before Terraria is removed from gamepass so I just deleted it.)

Theres a thread on Terraria’s forums that seem to imply this Collaboration may not be a One & Done deal-

Spoiler

If that means what I HOPE it means then both companies will continue to work together.. (which is nice :)) But- I will just continue to be sad anytime the updates come for DST but not Terraria.

Maybe someday when a ton of DST content collab stuff comes to console I’ll re-download it :)

i alredy dit vote dst for labor of love
and if only you are alowed to vote for the same game in differend categorys, i would clearly vote that 1 game no one knows about in more then just the beautifull soundtrack gategory, and good thing that beautiful soundtrack is buyable for the game no one knows about, so theres that at least

Apparently it's Terraria's 10 year anniversary. I love Klei and Don't Starve Together like no other game, but... ten years putting that much time, dedication and passion into a game? Don't Starve Together still has plenty of time to get the award, but t I think Terraria's win is overdue.

It's getting closer to the 11th year anniversary at this point. Game came out in May 2011.

Re-Logic only works on PC Terraria, other platforms are handled by another company.

Furthermore, Don't Starve Together only exists on 3 platforms, compared to Terraria's 6. (That are still updated, there's more but those can't support 1.3+)
