Griftlands - Languages Update (August 30, 2021)

Hey Grifters!

This update brings all of our official translations to completion. You can now fully grift in any of the following languages: 

  • English
  • Chinese (Simplified)
  • Chinese (Traditional)
  • Brazilian Portuguese
  • French
  • German
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Polish
  • Russian

We've also made some changes to help in modding some types of game content, and fixed some gameplay and UI bugs. You can see the full patch notes below.

Translations:

  • Update all translations, and marked them as complete!
  • Use either the declensions defined in an agent's skin_def (if it exists) OR the agent_def.  Most characters have skins, but some have their name baked into the CharacterDef, and the translators sometimes supply declensions for the CharacterDef string but not the skin.

Modding:

  • Amend AddCombatPartyDef to still assign the generator function even if it wasn't previously defined.
  • Move PT_RANGES and PT_COUNT_RANGES to constants for mod accessibility,
  • Make PickTeams and FindValidTeams global helper functions.
  • audio: fmod project for modders
  • Don't list Workshop mods when creating a new plax, or permit saving on top of a plax from a Workshop mod.
  • Fix the filepath when saving an existing mod plax.
  • Add support for custom save error messages in the PlaxEditor

Gameplay:

  • Fix enemy targets in the Sal Meets.. / Rook Meets.. events from not being registered as killed properly.
  • Trade Secrets: don't count dead Spark Barons among those that dislike you.
  • Felek and Tazz now have Jakes core arguments, instead of an empty one.
  • Remove boons/banes from NPCs that are not possible to achieve in the base game.
  • Add a story branch on Smith's final day that lets you get Foolo's boon
  • Remove the 'STATUS' flag from Rooks' negotiation parasites.  They should no longer trigger Distributed Processing, Triage, and the like.
  • PrepareAttackEvents: Avoid consuming hits from other attacks in the event queue.  Fixes Kashio's holograms from showing all of their conditions if you countered her glaive attack that turn.

UI:

  • Don't focus the non-existent end of turn button in fights/negotiations when you are in controller mode
  • Show loot option tooltips when using gamepad.
  • Use TryFit for card tooltip type label, so that text is fitted for longer translations (eg. Rare Manipulate in polish)
  • Fix blank objective tooltips caused by empty strings.
  • Only show penalized number damage if the value is actually penalized (eg. not clamped due to min/max range).  Fixes Pistol Whip showing as 4-4 (min damage penalized) if you have Concentration.
  • Fix perk sidebar title overlapping with perk point balance.
  • Expand new act buttons to fit translation text.

Cards:

  • dropkick_plus2g and seemlis_dagger now apply evasion in on pre resolve rather than post resolve (This fixes a bug where the evasion did not protect against counter)
  • Add upgrade highlight for Boosted Hot Air.
  • Classic Smith: update card text to reflect that the Bully cards are added to your hand.
  • Degrade: Fix being re-targetted to enemy arguments, even when targetting your own.
  • Show the Evaded! attack floater if Muddled causes the attacker to miss.
  • Impartial: triggers at end of opponent turn, so that any intent damage occurs prior to Renown being destroyed.

Misc:

  • Fully initialize fmod 3d event attributes, can cause undefined behaviour

Thanks, I understand. Anyway, if they read me, the wait is much too long. More than 2 months! We are losing patience...

Hey guys developers. May be it's time to hurry up, don't you think?! It's quite a scandal! We bought the game more than 2 months ago, and still no language patch for Switch! Don't you read your customers on the forum? Can't you answer us at least?!
