Here is the video link of this trick Spiral Starfish Trap .

It is a fortification against Hounds attack. Players only need to run clockwise around those Pawn Figures. Ceause hounds are slowly than player they will fall into the center of the trap.  There are 4 Anenemies at the center of the circle.

As we know the Anenemy will trigger and deal 60 damage to anything on top of it and close itself for around 1 minute. And they will always work even if the player leaves the trap to a very far place.

Players can leave here to do other things, until the hounds are completely wiped out or the next hound attack. It only takes up to 4 minutes to destroy all the hounds. And do not afraid about ice or fire hounds. It will not have any bad effects with fire or ice.

You can ride a beefalo to reap the spoils. In this way, the beefalo can take the damage instead of the player. Don’t worry it won’t hurt beefalo. : )

This fortification is also worked well for Frog Rain / Werepigs / Bunny / Shadow Splumonkey / Deerclops ( 8 days) .

It is inspired by xue_tao_lu which means " learn tricks ". I am so happy to share funs in DST game with you guys, thank you everyone.

How do you deal with mobs glitching through the statues when unloaded?

I can not. But mobs will not move when player is far away from them.  Starfish should kill them all in a few days.

That's an unnecessary long way to deal with hounds. It's pretty and very creative though. Maybe you could add some walls to mess with the Hounds pathfinding? That could speed up the process of getting them inside the spiral.

Hounds would identify the walls as structures that are blocking them and will instead destroy the walls. That might lead to a very messy situation

Not completely surround the thing with walls. I mean, if he placed walls in an L shape right at the entrance of the spiral the hounds pathfinding would lead them up (Where the marbles are) instead of down (Where supposedly a wall would be). Hounds only bite walls if they lose aggro on you and target the nearest breakable as far as I know.

This is a surprise.

For the sake of beauty, I put the Pawn Figures as smooth as possible.

Larger entrances are better for traps to catch hounds. This is an effective way to improve.

Au contraire. The operation of this wouldn't be much different than the operation of a large field of tooth traps (You can leave once they're all inside), but it requires no maintenance. With the spiral design you have a large time investment for its initial construction but then it's completed forever. With a tooth trap field you have a smaller time investment for its initial construction, but it has to be reset every time there's a hound wave, it has to be repaired every couple of hound waves in addition to being reset, and it's just this huge ugly field.

This spiral design looks better and over time would end up requiring less time than the traditional tooth trap field.
