Dried Leafy Meat

Recommended Posts

With the recent bunnyman nerf, I felt like I should bring up the issue of leafy meat's short shelf life.

While Leafy Meat technically lasts as long as Meat and Monster Meat, the fact it spoils the moment a Lureplant produces means it'll often be stale or even spoiled when the player gets it.

And this is inevitably reflected on the dishes you make with it, especially the ones that require Leafy Meat, since those only last 6 days to begin with.

So, I'd really love to be able to dry Leafy Meat and get Leafy Jerky (it rhymes even!) that will be nice and fresh and last longer.

Hello !

Would it be just for reset freshness (in that case, maybe the own leafy meat rotting mechanic is to change ?), or you have a specific idea for the dry leafy meat item ?

Freshness was and still is my main issue. I suppose making the Leafy Meat not spoil until you harvest it would be a good enough alternative too for that.

I hadn't really given any thought to the stats of the "Leafy Jerky", but I imagine it would sit somewhere between normal Jerky and monster Jerky. Just like Cooked Leafy Meat has no negative effects, Leafy Jerky shouldn't have any negative effects either. But I don't think it would be "fair" to give it any Health or Sanity gain either, since it's still a worse version of meat.

i think for that klei decided to give such wonderfull stats to leafy meat dishes

Most leafy meat dishes are blob-like dishes becuz of the meat, I wonder if they still would count in the crockpot if dried, for jelly salad for example, but that's just me talking about visual, there's always our savior Game logic, and I would like to dry them.I have lure plant plot and most of the time I get the meat it's already spoiling.
