There is no motivation in the game.

Some old bosses should have loots redone so that we have motivation to farm them every now and then. 

Antlion (no motivation to farm after first kill)

Bearger (purely used for destroying trees and mining)

Toadstool (after getting all the blueprints, no motivation to farm more, shroom skin can be mass produced with destruction staff)

Crabking (I believe there will be an improved loot dropping in the future?)

Malbatross (the drops are meh... I only need 2 winged sails)

Agreed, they need closure metaphorically. I highly recommend they get updates in the future, just like the character refreshes.
