Hey Grifters!

There's something afoot in Grout Bog! This update adds a new alternate boss for Rook's day 1, a new special chain of mutating parasite cards for his combat deck, and Grout Burs - elements of the bog that can join in on fights that take place outside.

We've also been busy fixing and tweaking things, as usual. Check out the full patch notes below:

  • Rook's parasites now have rarities to indicate their parasite tier
  • Rework of Serrated Edge Upgrade. It now doubles both WOUND and CRIPPLE instead of giving triple WOUND.
  • The dodgy scavenger who offers you items from a past life now uses random (low) prices, rather than trying to come up with a value for uniques
  • Fixed the money indicator in the mainoverlay getting delayed updates
  • Fixed a bug where unlocking all the compendium while a compendium popup was open broke the connection between the popup and the widget that was supposed to gain focus when the popup closed.
  • Fixed arrows not working in the notifications
  • Patch up some dialog in sal_story_capture_nadan, to allow for the chance the the player steals the pack oshnu
  • Mark up a negotiation in rise_asset_liberation to be an intimidation if you aren't friends with the target
  • Added two new parasite cards for Rook
  • Added a new grout burr type that gives you loot if you manage to kill it
  • Fix negotiation modifiers in handler_spree_prisoner_exchange, so that turning in the criminal actually changes the negotiation difficulty
  • Change the luminari's dialog in tunnel rats when you meet them after finding the way to the bandits
  • Add some post-fight dialog to recon in force
  • Fixed bug where the order of DELTA_STAT events would get reversed in PrepareAttackEvents()
  • remove the oppo limit in wounded animals
  • tune the encounter limiter a bit, to allow for more lopsided fights as the game progresses
  • Fix the alignment of the selected characters on the new-game-screen
  • Fix the arrows not working on the relationship screen
  • Fix the upcoming damage alignment in battle
  • hide non-player-party animals on screens that aren't your home base
  • Bandit Captain's attack is now marked as a debuff
  • fixed bug where Focused Assault would get stuck in it's "active" state
  • dont use dead helpers/hinders in negotiation
  • Set faction for hesh boss, clear out null voice actor
  • Fixed missing tooltip on Bough
  • Hesh Boss debuff now has damage preview

  • Give day 5 completion bonus on the win screen for beating Kashio

  • Respect the locked flag when showing card details, so that you can't upgrade cards mid-fight and crash the game
  • Overhauled intent icons with animation
  • Mark caffy as indoors, so no burs can attack
  • Remove admiralty "bulwark" because it doesn't do anything
  • Don't let the taskmaster reduce panic thresh to zero.
  • The Hesh Boss no longer gives you overcharge, instead her attacks can at most bring you up to fully charged
  • Put in a custom oppo limit for all_play_and_no_work, to prevent the player from being overwhelmed
  • Fixed bug where defend could become negative when attacking someone with counter. This was caused by using the same Attack multiple times
  • Fixed a bunch of typos.
  • Enabled the parasite cards - you get one in an early random event, and then it repeatedly hatches. (higher tier parasite cards will come later)
  • removing parasites actually hurts your max health
  • Burrs retract after a couple of turns, and explain themselves in a condition.
  • Don't let the knuckle defend its team
  • Hesh boss is in the actual game (with placeholder dialogue)
  • Burrs get added in a much more determinisitc way
  • Knuckle gets riposte when it defends
  • don't show burr spawning 'graft' in graft list at end of day
  • Started a bunch of optimization stuff (be on the lookout for breaking UI stuff!)
  • Add a name for the hesh boss
  • dynamo_round now correctly passes itself as the source when removing Overcharge
  • Added new HATCH card flag
  • Set up a standard way for hatch cards to handle their hatching
  • Fixed crash in rentorian boss relating to new prestige scaling
  • Added Rook's new parasites, and grout bog burrs (just in code - not enabled yet because WIP)
  • Added Hatch cards to events that were previously in the game but not used anywhere
  • Slightly increased the base damage of Oolo and Nadan's attacks 
  • Slight buff to baseline damage and defense of Hesh Boss
  • Added prestige scaling to more of the Hesh Boss' attacks
  • Slight behaviour and damage tuning on both Assassins 
  • Added prestige scaling to the Rentorian Boss
  • Hesh Boss' first attack is now correctly marked as a debuff
  • three_fingers_plus no longer adds additional hated people
  • fix save game deletion in the game over screen
  • Never show negative stacks. What even is that?!
  • Kashio's clones now return to their position with slight delays to offset their idle anims
  • New holo fx
  • Limit the number of kashio holograms to the max team size, because having holograms in the reserve queue causes all kinds of problems
  • Fix for crash when holograms try to run away
  • Added a new boss test (day 1 Rook alt)
  • (behind-the-scenes) Reexported all background and character art with a new tool that is much faster and more reliable.
  • Hooked up a bunch of art for specific melee and gun items
  • Cleaned up a lot of unused textures to bring the build size down slighlty.
  • Fixed issue with the confirm button not showing up for people with the Confirm Card option enabled

Just sent out a hotfix that fixes a crash if you die to drawing the twig parasite. Also pushed out a new experimental that doesn't change very much, but synchronizes stuff for bug-tracking purposes.

The next update is going to add a new day to Rook's story, so you probably won't see too much that's terribly new in experimental until we've had a chance to put a bunch of new quests in. We will run boss experiments again, which might come out next week. You'll be fighting Flexfis and/or Arint this time.
