Goya37 Posted November 24, 2019 Share Posted November 24, 2019 I've been away for a few months, so maybe something has changed but I don't think so. But my dupes don't build anymore when something first need to be dug out, but my digger isn't digging when there is a build errand on top of the dig errand. The digger has to dig, but he won't. So now for example when building a ladder through something, I first need to make it a dig errand, without the build errand. Only when the space is empty, and I put the build errand 'on it' the build errand will be executed. I know it sounds 'messy', but I don't know how to explain it more clearly.... priorities are ok, my digger is skilled enough, everything is reachable, I've tried everything making it the 9 priority, and they still won't come and dig if there is a build errand at the same time. Is this a bug, or am I missing something really obvious?! So for example in this picture, my staircase won't be build, unless I delete the staircase, and only have a dig errand there. OxCD Posted November 24, 2019 Share Posted November 24, 2019 @Goya37 builders used to be able to dig when they have a build order, including some aberration cases. Stuffs have been patched since. Is your builder able to dig ? What kind of rock is below your ladder ? What's under the errand tab, when you click on the rock ? And on the ladder ? My digger has a good priority, enough skill, it is reachable, ladder and digging have priority 9 atm, but he seems to just not dig when there is a build errand on top of it. SharraShimada Posted November 25, 2019 Share Posted November 25, 2019 Question: Are those simple doors left and right or do they have permission-restrictions? If so, is the digger allowed to pass? This may be a situation where they want to dig it from the left or right, and refuse to dig from below at all cost. But if they cant reach the position, they wont do it at all. No doors are locked, everything is reachable. Even during work time, his errands list look like this, he just won't go over there to dig when there is a ladder build errand on top of it. I guess it is a bug. Because in my plus 300hrs in this game, I've never had an issue like this. I'll try a restart again, hopefully it won't happen then again. Thanks for the help guys! beowulf2010 Posted November 25, 2019 Share Posted November 25, 2019 Sometimes a digger just won't dig until the materials for the build have been delivered. Why? Not sure, but it's been around as long as I remember. The fastest way to build a long ladder section is to dig a zig zag pattern of 3 tall dig orders. Once that is done, then the ladders can be built in that column nice and quick. Not at my computer so I can't post a screen shot, sorry.
