Right now Food Poisoning gives the following effects:

Bladder Change +200%/cycle
Bathroom Use Speed -20%
Stamina -30%/cycle

Ever since vomiting was removed the illness could arguably be considered a good thing, the more urine the better. The stamina debuff is also fairly negligible. I think the disease system is in a really weird state right now, but Food Poisoning isn't very well designed at all. I think Slimelung should also get a re-work but that's beside the point.

I just want to gauge people's opinions on the matter and how important it is to them at the moment.

It fits as an introduction to the system. A new player will very likely try to mitigate it even if they are not likely to be harmed drastically.

The main complaint this game receives is it's too hard (actually, performance is probably #1). I would prefer to keep the more harmful diseases later.

As nakomaru said, I think it has its place as the "introductory" illness and it is more of a forced real-time tutorial for some general mechanics, rather then a threat. It is not fatal for your colony, but it forces you to learn some basic concepts and deal with it.
I think it is the only desease that doesn't necessarily need a revamp. The others, each for its own reason, really need to be re-thought.

The one real bad thing that I think food poisoning should do is make dupes require more food.  It doesn't have to be a huge amount, say an extra 250 kcal per cycle, but something that can becomes a problem for you the longer you take to address it.

I have found that it's extremely annoying to avoid if you're using germy water outside of your toilet system.  So much so that I usually delete the germy water with thimble reeds just so I don't have to deal with it.  If it's exposed to anything that the dupes interact with, it quickly gets on everything and someone's always going to get sick.  Trying to use a contaminated water geyser as my chief water supply was the first thing that made me actually get a medical dupe in my last dozen bases, just so I could make a supply of curative tablets.

The negative stamina is actually pretty annoying, since it will make your dupes fall asleep during the day and get the sore back debuff.  This isn't game ending, but you're losing a lot of labor time so long as your dupes have food poisoning.
