JonathanH Posted September 9, 2019 Share Posted September 9, 2019 I just started playing recently so forgive my foolishness, but what are the chances I got a map without a nullifier? I'm on cycle 700 and I've been over ALMOST the entire map. I finally gave up and after seeing a post I turned on sandbox mode and wiped what little fog was left (space and lava) and I still can't find any trace of one. I started some passive cooling in a few cold spots but it's not going to lasts. I'll post a sav if needed but my base is a mess and I'm embarrassed. You will likely need to switch to powered cooling. A gold amalgam aquatuner submerged in a water or oil pool outside your base will buy you a fair bit of time. A steel aquatuner will buy you even more, and in the oil biome that heat can be put to good use to feed a molten slickster ranch. And an aquatuner in a steam room below a Steam Turbine will buy you eternal cooling. All of these methods cost a fair bit electricity, of course: the steam turbine isn't nearly enough to power the aquatuner on it's own. I actually had too much oxygen of all things at one point if you can believe it. I'm sure someone would cry and want to beat me for it, but I vented it to space with no guilt. Sorry, not sorry. lol I'm still figuring these things out. I don't like to do the math, I like to wing it and see what happens then problem solve. See if equilibrium finds me instead of me finding it. lol I'm currently procrastinating redoing my power system. And also figuring out solar. Everything I have in space gets destroyed... I need to watch a video or put more thought into it. There used to only ever be 2-3 They are rather insignificant where cooling is concerned when you get to the point in time where you can build a steam turbine aqua tuner combo. That combo really is too all encompassing a solution for pretty much everything.
