A couple oddities

Recommended Posts

First off, let me say, I'm past using water for food, so germs in the water really don't bother my dupes, but I usually set up a chlorine cleaner like this anyway, just because I don't like yellow dots in my water. I have a germy polluted water geyser that I decided to feed into one of these (exploity, I know) infinite water storage things. I don't like dealing with giant banks of liquid reservoirs, or huge holding tanks all over my map.

Anyway, I have these three reservoirs disconnected at the moment, because I noticed all the germs weren't dying off during its cycle, so I bypassed it and moved on to other projects. It's been sitting down there for about 20 cycles with no water moving in or out of the tanks, I noticed that each tank reads a different number of germs, but the number of germs is no longer decreasing in any of them. The one in the screenshot is just twitching around 25,000,000 germs. I wonder why that is?

Lastly, I have no idea how Gossman ended up like this, aren't you supposed to be cooking or something little dude? I guess he got bored and wanted to help dig,  maybe he teleported due to possible entombment? I wasn't there to see it happen.

I'm having so much fun playing this again!

There was a bug where they would get entombed in natural tiles, which happened randomly when digging corridors. Now they teleport to the room above...

Has anyone tried building a space elevator/teleporter yet based off this bug? Would be fun to see how far you can get a dupe to teleport.

The problem is it doesn't seem to be reliable. It seems to be caused by the same Update/FixedUpdate crap that is causing critter AI not to fire when the game is under load. I have seen it happen more often in early stages of the game (high fps), suggesting it happens on graphical update pass rather than on the physics pass.

If you click on the water in the reservoir (that's the text under the contents section), then go to the germs tab, you can see what's causing the germs to increase or decrease in your water.  I suspect the reason is that it's polluted water.  If the water was pure, then you'd have an easier time decontaminating it.
