RonEmpire
So I'm noticing that whenever you guys generate Rust biome, you seem to generate a bunch of Dreckos in them as well. Not sure what the reasoning for this since Drecko's livable temperature range is 15degrees. and the Rust biome are all under 0 degrees. Oozinator
Not one singe drecko in my rust biomes, so far.. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/108110-rust-biome-with-dreckos-spawns-tempature-issue/#findComment-1216152 Share on other sites
RonEmpire
they probably died. my generated world i'm getting a bunch of dreckos inside the biome. I was able to see via sandbox reveal all maps Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/108110-rust-biome-with-dreckos-spawns-tempature-issue/#findComment-1216163 Share on other sites
Sasza22
Dreckos don`t really fit there. There is no food they can eat and it`s too cold. Maybe they are a placeholder for a different creature there or there is some sort of drecko morph that could live there. Is there even hydrogen spawning in those biomes? That reminds me. All the new critters don`t have morphs. Imagine how pip morphs could look like. Judging by how "fun" and "enjoyable" the base morph is, the others would probably destroy buildings in search of germs to deposit on organic matter like food and dupes. Or pick up sleeping dupes and drop them off in areas with no oxygen and no way up. Jokes on them, my dupes already do this to themselves. All the new critters don`t have morphs. Imagine how pip morphs could look like. No hydrogen. It's carbon dioxide with sometimes chlorine too. Dasha saltvines and squeaky pufts eat the chlorine extremely fast, so in pretty much the best case, it's a dozen cycles to saltvines halting growth forever while squeaky pufts huff the fumes from their own waste nearby. As well, even with mafic rock for insulation, the biome can't really sustain nosh sprout growth for much more than 100 cycles because nearby temperate/hot biomes or even geysers or POIs breaching its insulation will warm it up rapidly. My guess would be Klei intended to add a drecko morph that eats nosh sprout/saltvine/balm lily growth, farts chlorine (at a fair bit lower than body temperature, but not quite enough to be peeing chlorine), and grows a coat of rust in carbon dioxide or something, and just couldn't get it in in time for release; such would solve the rust biome's problems. Some kind of "sterile morb" that just farts chlorine, in place of the current caustic biome morbs, and in rust biome too, would also help, but might not do enough to keep the rust biome cold, and of course wouldn't be as cool as a new drecko morph that keeps rust obtainable after it's all mined.
