Notes about unspoken stuff: Thulecite

But no one refers to them as Shadows, only monsters. I think at least 1 of the survivor would call them Shadows if they were. Looks like they are regular monsters to me.

Metheus Puzzle give us a graphic description about it, you can see some ones being killed and others being assimilated to the shadows.

The designs of Crawling Horror, Swimming Horror & Terror Beak looks familiar (but more twisted and dark, of course) to the ancients.

And the process described by the characters sounds like the metamorphosis of butterflies.

Apparently, the old bodies are now "shells" of thulecite while the new ones are made out of nightmare fuel.

I said "looks like" by a reason:

-The material shown here seems close to the truth by now.

-We need the approval of Klei to be 100% confirmed finally.

Still a poor verb choice, if you began talking about the melting and forging of fossils you would have had some evidence.

Right now the strongest evidence is that both are yellow. That’s nowhere strong enough to resemble confirmation or truth.

Can you make a explanation here of this process with citations and sources, please? I think the community will appreciate because everybody have interest about find clues of lore.

I think the pictures and quotes related to this are important too, because help with the research of info.

It is a fact that thulecite is forgable, it can be turned into walls after all. Multiple pieces become a single piece. If you’re going to say you have confirmation of thulecite being organic, you should at least provide something similar with organic materials.

Bee wax is the closest I can think of, but good luck weaponizing that ...

But leaps of faith are not confirmation, using pictures is an ok start, but there are massive holes you need fill

I could name Amber as example, tree resin with hardness between 2.0 and 2.5 (Mohs scale) when is fossilized and used as gemstone today.

I think is important keep in mind the thulecite of DS/DST is not exact to the one of our world, which lacks of magic.

True, but that's part of research, takes a time get all the "pieces" together.

If so, that species of monster would have to be extinct, once they don’t ever appear. The two varieties of statues we see depict creatures extremely similar is shape to the two hostile types of shadows. The statues of the ancient as well as their bodies (in the atrium) begin to drip with Nightmare Fuel during the active phase of the ruins.

Unless I’ve missed something, it’s not rock solid and indisputable, but it’s an awful lot to write off as coincidence. Especially because it presents a pretty interesting story for something accidentally suggested.

did you research melting them?

I have no idea what this is getting at and I’m not going to pretend to. I’ve googled it, and amber becomes soft and malleable at 150oc, at which point it can be moulded, if that’s what you are asking about. However, it never conventionally melts, as it decomposes at 300oc. Do with that what you will...

Mind filling me in on what that implys?

In short, thulecite can’t be organic because it would burn instead of melting, and you aren’t getting those tiny pieces into walls without melting them.

This is what we call using realism too heavily.

Not to mention the existence of magic making any "realism" arguments pointless. Not that the Constant followed real rules anyway.

Fish have literal x eyes on death, and gold is actually strong metal, learned courtesy of Wagstaff. The laws you know don't apply.
