Old Players may like this

I may not have over 5000 hours, but a difficult mode would be Fun.

More HP & attack patterns for bosses

Less resources

Nerfed  Characters

Less food

Low food spoil time

Higher damage output from mobs

Faster overheating & freezing

New weapons ?

Ranged weapons ( not like darts but ones you control where they land with a lower craft cost, and have durability with required ammo )

This is very possible as it would act like the meteor blast from the forge.

Just throwing this out there,

But make the ruins a little bit more dangerous.

This is the only thing I can agree with

... Misery Toadstool is already a pain to fight.

Ugh,

Exploits

Also you can solo it if you are equipped

Same goes for every boss

And I think you missed the point, things being difficult is great, everything being a walk in the park is no way near fun,

Not to add that fighting toad is an option + he doesn't drop anything of good use.

Veteran players aren’t looking for a harder gamemode, we could already tweak world settings to do that.  We enjoy new challenges to adapt to that are interesting to deal with.

Even the people who most prefer a vanilla, unmodded experience either turn off disease or condone it because disease is trivial amounts of challenge in exchange for substantial tedium.  Making bosses bigger piles of hp is a poor way to make them challenging, because it doesn’t make them any more interesting than they were before.

I don't understand why deerclop's laser isn't a permanent thing.

The deerclops' laser actually made him an easier fight...it was admittedly interesting but after seeing him shoot the laser a couple of times it was way easier to dodge than his regular attack.

why's that?

AFAIK it was pretty damn fast and coupled with lag it could hit people more reliably than the ice punch.

Exploit ME when I'm not gonna exploit anything!

Difficulty is great but tons of HP on bosses don't make the fight more difficult, it just makes the fight long, annoying and the exact opposite :

unfunny

Wouldn't easier to use and/or cheaper ranged weapons make the game, you know, easier and not harder? The reason they're clunky and/or expensive is because you can stay out of attack range of most enemies.

It was because you could sidestep it by walking to the side just a tiny bit whereas the ice punch has big aoe, if somebody was hitting him from behind they didn't even have to move and it wouldn't hit them. (Nothing you can really do about lag though, lol). I think the seasonal variant for the deerclops is a good idea though, because it's harder to learn/remember the attack pattern of a boss if it is seasonal. If they did any other variations on bosses in a similar way I'd be all for it.

that's one thing you can't get out of my head pal,

Toad is has useless drops, i was NEVER excited to get loot from toad, i fought him cause of boredom, maybe add some exciting rewards for defeating a boss that has 99K HP
