brucemo Posted March 24, 2019 Share Posted March 24, 2019 I've studied all of the planets with the telescope, so there is nothing left to do with regard to that, and I'd considered tearing the building down. I'm currently researching jet packs, which do not require any sort of space research. And yet there is a dupe at the telescope, researching. I just noticed him doing it and it is likely that he just started. The progress bar associated with the research is at zero and I can't figure out what he is researching. I'd report this as a bug but I don't know if it's working as designed (hamster wheel athletic training, etc.). Having a means to do research infinitely would mean you could level up learning on all your dupes to a very high degree, which would make training all other skills very very quick. Unfortunately I could not replicate the bug. I just set the job priority on the dupe to favor research, and the priority on the telescope was 9 and the priority on the other research stations was lower. I don't know if this reproduces, but I had to drop the priority on the telescope to get the dupe out of the telescope room. However in this case dupe was trying to perform research. I wonder what gane engine does in such case. Sasza22 Posted March 25, 2019 Share Posted March 25, 2019 Once you build the telescope a dupe might start using it even before you select a planet to analyze. After you analyze all a dupe will still come to watch the stars through the telescope. Happens for me every time. It seems to be tied with the "no object selected" message the telescope produces. If the messafe is there dupes won`t come to the telescope. When all is analyzed the message no longer appears and dupes again use the telescope. It`s defintely a bug. Althrough i didn`t test it in the newest patch. I just disable the telescope after all planets are analyzed. Deconstructing it will make you unable to open the starmap which is annoying when you are suing rockets.
