Is the critter sensor bugged or am I just bad at using it?

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to use a critter sensor in my most recent build, but it seems to not send signals correctly. I had the sensor set in the room below to "1". My thought was that when a critter was dropped off, the door beneath would close. It works, but only sometimes. It seems like 30% of the time it wont activate till there are like 4-5 critters. Other times it wont activate at all. But if I set it to 0 while critters are in the room it works, but only that once.

I'm super confused....

please help?

Not sure what's going on on in your specific case, but the critter sensor is a bit weird in a couple of ways.

1) It goes active when there are *more* critters than the number it's set to. So if you want it to go active only when there are 4 or more critters, you need to set it to 3.

2) It counts eggs. Including eggs being held by an autosweeper (easy egg dropper) and in containers. (I can't remember if they count eggs in Incubators, sorry.)

Great, that's why I wanted to ask before I filed a bug report. I think it may be my computer weirdly enough. I tried it on my husbands laptop and it does not have the same issues. I'm gonna try reinstalling the game to see if that fixes it. Otherwise I will submit a bug report with my system specs. Thanks everyone!
