QoL Suggestion

So you know how the Pig Shopkeeps will wake up if you try to trade with them at night? I think this feature should be implemented into the Pig King in the base game. The reason I say this is because the Pig King sleeps at night, making it very difficult to make gold renewable in a “Lights Out” run (which I frequently do). This would make it possible to ACTUALLY survive forever in Lights Out.

I would rather have the option to wake them up by giving coffee. I think that it should be some sort of balanced exchange to obtain that benefit.

assuming you can make coffee easily in both worlds (ROG / HAM)

Tbh I think Klei is aiming to getting people really hop to the other dlc worlds... if you remember renewability was a big topic in the suggestions and the stores actually work under that premise... and getting to hamlet with a stack of gems for trade to make some quick money is super ez for some coffee cuz the spawn spot is usually fairly close to the main town with the spa store.

I don't like hopping worlds because it makes the game tooo much easy and less of an survival thing.

I personally find the Survival part to be more enjoyable then the immersion part as most of the time you will be more excited about discovering something new and different and the challenge each time you face to survive compared to selectively having several worlds that you can hop to and from and get all the advantages without any cost at all.

it completely nullifies the aspect of renewing a world which removes the previous world and thus the challenge and discovery.

(apologies from side tracking from the spoken topic)

The coffee thing can somewhat work in Hamlet but for how long will the trader remain awake for each intake?

Hmmm world hoping is imo a great adventure and even more interesting that seeing the same world with the same creatures in the same setting... what can be more adventurous than discovering a new world in New an dunexplore lands?... you are confronted with different and new mechanics unique to each dlc ... which keeps the survival aspect fresh as well... hmmm i mean talking about immersion in a caricatured world a la Tim Burton magic and traveling portal fits perfectly...

Moreover, Hopping worlds is not for free...  and you need to prepare for it.... it's not just ez game ... it's expanding on your game experience imo...

And the coffee duration for the sellers.. I guess it should last the same as for the player or for balance maybe 2 coffee per night?

You make a wormhole when you make a worthy in one world and when you make a worthy in another world it also becomes a wormhole and you can travel to both worlds anytime without any cost at all.

this basically means you can travel back and forth* between two worlds and get massive advantages in survival compared to being stuck in a single world

(you are no longer stuck essentially)

this makes the game too easy to play.

Apologies but I didn't understand you.

3 minutes ago, Computer-7 said:

you said it removes the survival aspect, but at the point where you can go to different dlcs the threats from the dlcs are already dealt with or barely a challenge.

the items you need to make worthies are extremely easy and quick to acquire and make compared to something like Houndius Shootius or Boss drops etc.

why do you those though? you make a eyebrella or dumbrella and the rest is decorative

Dude its about Challenge, Difficulty in gaining access to another world.

it shouldn't be that easy and simple in a Survival Game

Imo the game is more fun with more worlds and new biomes.. exploring is always a nice experience cuz RoG is very small as you can get it done after a while... while SW takes way more time and effort to explore and Hamlet even tho it's kinda small it has ruins which adds a lot of flavor to the game... so i really don't get your point...

being stuck doesn't sound fun to me... and after a full circle of seasons in each dlc the rest is mostly base building... so i think being stuck doesn't add to survival at all cuz after the first survival cycle u already have all you need in any world anyways... being stuck is more comfortable than going to explore new worlds from a survival stand point...

My point is, You don't have to pay anything to get a new world anymore, you can do it without any loss and you can go back to your old world without any price either.

this makes it easy to survive.

If you wish to go to another world you must pay some price for it instead of being able to go back and forth and take items along and get all the advantages from each world easily.

EXACTLY, this is exactly what I feel.

well than your missing out on a huge part of the game merging worlds adds so much more content and makes it so much more enjoyable.

xD

what do you mean with game's integrity... it's a game.. no code of morals... besides, this feature is intended, no glitch, no exploit

then you also have to consider teleportato cheating cuz it also operates under the same concept..

and also never use any kinda of glitches or exploits in the game at all.. cuz it gives you an advantage...

Let's be honest... the game is based on the whole concept of hopping worlds.. that you don't do it it's alright but saying it's cheating is a bit baseless IMO. Besides, if you don't wanna start a new world with "advantages," you can start each individual world from scratch and then after the first year, you can then merg them.. or not... I mean... it's a choice..

It depends on people. Some don't enjoy playing all dlc together and prefer segregating content. It feels harder and more rewarding, because you have to deal with every difficulty each dlc has without workaround from other dlc-s.

Similarly, I don't often do any of those things listed either. I don't like using the Teleportato because I like my base and I prefer not to use glitches because in my experience they can get out of hand and make the game far too easy (i.e. cloning glitches).

And, I never said that world-merging was cheating. I said it felt like cheating to me.

u did use the Chester like creatures glitch.. so I don't think that's entirely true.. after all, u were the person who corrected me on this

again.. you do you.. but I think exploring other worlds is way more interesting that doing the same thing with the same creatures in the same world... btw do you have fire farms in your world? cuz that's an exploit too

I like the variety of exploring new worlds.. and as I said before... staying cozy at base is way more comfortable than exploring new worlds where u don't have the luxury of a base already... that's my way of seeing it I guess...  you could also start from scratch after the first season cycle is over and then merge if you feel you don't wanna start with certain items or structures

The implication of "cheating" is very misleading... cuz it is not.. even if you say "it feels like" ... anyways...

what if once you teleport to say from Hamlet world to ROG world with Skyworthy, and the ROG world starts as new, then when you are done with ROG and want to go back to Hamlet so you make a Skyworthy in ROG and go to the Hamlet world but the Hamlet world you left before you went to ROG world is reset as a new world and you lost your old Hamlet World and the same has happened with the ROG world you have just left, would you consider this okay?

(you can go to any world you want to, but the world you leave behind will be lost and reset)

would you consider this okay?

that sounds horrible say you go to rog to get a eyebrella or something then you lose your hamlet world being able to travel to other worlds allows you to do a ton for mega basing losing that because you think playing the game is cheating is stupid

Losing the world you leave and going to a new one is what the Teleporto does, its the PRICE to go to a new world, and I consider it as fair.

if you remember Adventure mode, it primarily used this mechanic and you were only allowed to take 4 items with you (stacks including) which not only made it a great challenge but also very exciting and thrilling to go to a new world everytime you had to.

that's what is Survival.

using the teleporto resets your world for new materials and resources or if you want better world gen its serves a completely different purpose making the sky/seaworthy a teleporto just to make it "fair" is stupid. Making the game slower and removing options just makes the game worse.
