Mullematsch
Seems overally complicated and wasteful using pumps. Kinda cool I guess, if that is what you want to hear. Here is something I build a while ago: Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101037-the-critter-killing-machine/#findComment-1136203 Share on other sites
smithdl
That is cool, but does it kill ALL critters? I guess you could add air pass through tiles on top and kill puffs. Also, you have to turn that on don't you? Not a big deal, but I wanted one that was truly automated. I do not have to do anything with it and my dupes will never be caught inside of it. Mullematsch
You can modify it to kill pufts etc.. It is hooked up to a clock so it would activate once every day. The only thing I don't like about your design is that you are using a pump. Switch it out for doors and it is decent! smithdl
I agree, doors would be better. I also like having the floor of the butcher floor being a tile and not a door. I would have to make it wider to allow for my auto pick up though. Thanks for sharing your version, I like it. You can put a time sensor and activate the machine during night when dupes are sleeping to ensure they don`t get caught. Yunru
Why not just drop them into water? Critters still fall through vertical doors, right? You also can't kill pufts or shine bugs that way. ChickenMadness
Nice concept. I've been trying to think of a way to kill dreckos and you've both solved my problem lol. 3 hours ago, Yunru said: Why not just drop them into water? You can't drop them onto the bottom of the tank, unless perhaps it's very deep. You could, however, drop them onto a floating platform at the bottom of the tank. As long as you take care with shape, the dreckos can't jump off of it. The only other detail is about auto-sweepers. The dreckos can crawl underneath and die there. Use a single autosweeper at the level of the platform; it should be able to sweep both above and below the platform.
