Update: If you kill both hippos in a pair, they will NOT respawn in that spot.

yeap... just kill one... they need at least one to reproduce

Is there a downside to killing all the thunderbirds on the island or in an area (if you are not WX)? And if not, how do you do it?

boomerangs..

u can kill them all but cannot prevent them from spawning again... they spawn from their nests after a couple of days

it doesn't affect anything really..

Do they at least produce more iron on their nests? They’re so irritating, even if it doesn’t cost that much health to be shocked by one, but why should you be when you’re screens away from it?

Yeap.... I agree... I think it has to do with how player aggro is codded

They can't respawn if there if they're not dead so just move them into a corner and wall them off in a place where they won't shoot lightning place a lightning rod if you want to be safe, and there you go I think also ignore how you corner them all honestly it would be easier to place lightning rods everywhere

Could snakes swim in SW? Because they can in Hamlet and I don’t think I’ve seen that before.  I like snakes. They’re less  singlemindedly aggro than some of the other enemy MOBs, like scorpions. When you chop down their trees, they just seem kind of surprised, like “What just happened?” and that makes them seem more like actual creatures. I can often see them going about their snakes business off in some corner of the screen.

Nope. ONly Hamlet snakes swim.
That's probably the reason why they are here in the 1st place, cuz if they didn't swim Klei could just reuse sw snakes

Always found it funny how snakes can swim in ponds and not the ocean.

I mean if you we're a snake and you could survive on an island forever would you swim into the ocean where everything would try to eat you

But there isn’t an ocean in Hamlet for them to swim in...

They don’t go far from the shore that I’ve seen.

I was referring to the Ponds in Hamlet. The Vipers (Hamlet Snakes) can swim all the way through those, but prefer land. If you lure or force them, they will indeed swim.

I was also joking about the SW snakes, those for some reason cannot swim, while they are surrounded by water.

Place a rod, wall off their nets (use fence gate to enter), invite some gnats to join the wall party. There u go, renewable rock and iron (and maybe drumstick and feather if u kill those thunder birds).

Anyone has ever encounter a bug(?) that you can't build stuffs at some location (Geomatry colors it red) even that location is empty. This is pretty annoying...

And btw how do you fish in Hamlet? :0

If your talking about building in the jungle- jugle turf is covered with small green plants that you can't interact with. They are the thing that blocks you from building/placing stuf there.

Nope, no way to get rid of them.

No, I have this bug when I try to place my farm at grass biome and tea biome, I know about that green stuff in DF. A pic will be uploaded soon.
