Background mute

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

I have a suggestion that I noticed when I was playing Darkest Dungeon: Maybe background mute would be a good ideia. Sometimes I like to send my dupes to do something and alt+tab for a while until the errand is complete. I think it could be nice to have an option on sound menu that would make the game go mute when running on background.

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the request!

I've seen this one a lot - adding it to the list!

If added, please make it optional. Games that mute in the background with no option to disable it infuriate me, as they also mute when selecting another window on my multi-monitor setup even when set to borderless.

That is the first time I remember that a developer is posting in the suggestion and feedback forum... Thx

Nah, jambell has replied on the forums a few times. He’s cool like that. But I do understand how impossible it is for the developers to respond to every topic.

@jambell something also along these lines is to mute the ambient overlay noise. I know it’s sad, but I prefer to play without music and ambient sounds - but unchecking/muting those doesn’t mute the ones for the overlays.

I love all the sound effects though!

This is along similar lines to the overlay noises. When I go to the printing pod to get a new dupe, I hear both the printing pod music and the regular background music playing at the same time. Since accessing the printing pod pauses the game, I would think it should pause the background music as well so we only hear the printing pod music.

Word! Yep, it would be a toggle! :)

Ah, good point! This one was a categorisation issue -- those were in the HUD mix bus rather than the Ambiences mix bus, but you're right that it should be treated as an ambience! Added to the list, too :)

I believe this to be fixed in this update! If it still happens for you, let me know. :)
