I'm asking you what in the hell you meant by "why can't be still get the dark stuff", man.

Long Pig.

People said Klei is meanie to kiddies because long pig. Klei removed long pig so appeal the kiddie meanies.

Some one brought up Long Pig. Great. Now this is going to spiral into a flame war that goes on for several pages forcing the thread to be locked.

Or it won't.

Yeah dude, I want long pig back too. Kids eat boogers and scabs, how hard is it to believe a human is consumable?

No, that's not what Klei said at all. They took it out because before it, DS always had a dark a gloomy feeling, without outright dark content. With long pig in, the game felt almost like "hey, look how dark and spooky we are! You can eat da peoples!".

I'm bad at explaining it probably, but go back and watch some Klei Rhymes with Play and SethR brings it up and explains why it is not in, and won't ever be.

This is a game for 6 year olds(and above).  A  teen rating is for the LAWYERS and COURTS who are mentally deficient idiots.  Thats life.  You dont rate items because of who they are actually meant for and safe for.  You rate them based on idiots who require  "politically correct" (aka stupid) limitations.  There is nothing about this game or about Klei themselves that is  "being mean to kiddies".

LoZ: Ocarina of Time. A game featuring 2 races which are entirely nudists, giant parasites that shoot lightning, a humongous

decapitated zombie with disembodied hands, and a bloated deformed bloodied man-eating corpse fought in a room literally

made out of dead people. Rated E for everyone.

Don't Starve. A cartoon game with some creatures made out of shadows. They're really dark shadows, and

sometimes they bite. 2spooky4kiddies. Rated T for teen.

Honestly, I thought the long pig was perfectly brilliant and am saddened to see it not in the game (without mod aid anyway). But it's very much understandable that for people of any age cannibalism is a dealbreaker. It would not be fair to them to keep it, when the people in favor wouldn't even have minded if they'd never heard of it. It's still there for people to mod-in. That should be enough. This is a fair solution.

Japan tends to be a little looser with their rating system and America is afraid their kids will be scarred for life because something jumps at them.

Still, even today in America where little girls get locked up in prison overnight on account of

"terrorism threats"  such as saying she's going to shoot her friend with a squirt gun, OoT3D only

just barely got bumped up to an E10+ as opposed to the original's "E" (which is probably only

because E10+ hadn't really existed as a rating back then), and it's not like they really changed

that much. They added somesmall  scaley fin-things to Ruto's chest to make her look slightly less

naked, and they replaced the blood on Dead Hand with blue blotches.

He's still a giant deformed corpse who tries to bite off a little boy's head while chasing

him through a room made out of the rotting corpses of hundreds of dead people.

The only thing I can really think of that Don't Starve has is that it's somewhat implied

that the shadow creatures may or may not be demonic, and even then it's not like the

game is glorifying them and saying "Lucifer is good for you, eat your Lucifer-O's and

kill the Pope so he stops having untrendy opinions on gay marriage."

Hey everyone, basically Don't Starve on PC, Mac, and Linux are not rated by the ESRB, so we don't have an official rating. However we believe the game is appropriate for most ages. But we also believe it is up to parents what is best for their children, so it's hard to say specifically what age is best.

The game is on the spookier side, similar to something like Nightmare Before Christmas or Coraline. So if you're okay with those, or if you're a parent that's comfortable with your child watching those films, then Don't Starve should be fine as well.

The PS4 and PS Vita version on the other hand are rated by the ESRB as Teen for Fantasy Violence, Crude Humor.

That's right. I almost forgot the innuendos.

Ok I don't get it. Buntch of purests preaching the "Right" way.

The games for teens so any parent that lets there kids play it is not a resposible parent. Its a make belive world where "Wendy died doing what she loved, Being hurt by tentacles"

Its kind of like those parents that complain about violance/sex ect in ANY of the GTA games and moaning that its not right for there 8 year old child.

And its not just one or two isolated insodents, The Golden compass 2 was cancelled due some religious nut job moaning about how it effected his beliefs...sheesh don't watch it then simple.
