HeilerderWelten
Klei and Capy did a great job with that DLC so far, but I miss still some of the great ideas of the community that should be implemented. 1. Clockodiles (500 health) - a hostile mob in the mangrove biom that comes on land when Monsoon Season starts - has a close range bite attack and can't be staggered - drops: 2x Gears (100%) 1x Clock (12,5%) - is a trinket for the Yaarctopus that is ticking constantly when near it (is worth 3 Dubloons) 2. The Kraken Boss (3000 health) - we see tentacles in the title screen under the boat, but there is still no Kraken boss in Shipwrecked and no way to get tentacle spikes or spots - can only be found in deep oceans in calm season - has a pirate ship on the head, you can only see the pirate ship in the sea when you didn't aggroed him yet, if you come to close to the pirate ship his tentacles spawn around the pirate ship in a wide radius - you figth his tentacles like the tentacles in the swamp, but they are bigger and slower, the pirate ship will constantly bombard you with cannon fire (similiar to the attacks of the Floaty Boaty Knigths or Palm Treeguards) after you choped off enough tentacles, his head will spawn out of the water and the pirate ship stops firing at you - now you fight the head, he uses wave attacks (like the ones from the whales) if you are in medium range to him, if you are in close range to him, he starts to use a high damage bite attack with his beak - drops: 1x Pirate Cannon (100%) - you can use the cannon of the pirate ship that shots a volley of 7 cannon balls at once (works like the palm treeguard or floaty boaty knight grenade volley) - has 10 uses (7 cannonballs at once per use) - deals 100 damage - can only be fired from a boat (like the boat cannon) 8x Raw Fish (100%) 1x Kraken Beak (100%) - can be used to craft a... Beak Helmet - 1100 hp, 90% damage reduction (Thulecite Crown has 1200 hp, 90% damage reduction and has an anti stagger force field) - crafting with Alchemy engine 1x Kraken Beak 2x Cloth 1x Rope - Tentacle drops: 1x Tentacle Spot (20%) 1x Tentacle Spike (20%) - his Tentacles will start to respawn after some time (1-2 days) if you don't kill the Kraken 3. Glaciers in the sea when Hurricane Season starts - at the moment there is no point why we should get on the sea when that season starts... so the big whaves bother no one, there should be something special to Hurricane Season, that will tempt us to get in our boats and face the big waves, like big amounts of fresh ice (I am not a big fan of the Ice Maker 3000, you can just survive of monster meat and wood with that thing...without any real effort) 4. Walruss Whale Whunters...I mean Hunters - we can't get a tusk in Shipwrecked, so we have to spawn our walking cane in or throw 500 dubloons in the slotmachine until we get that thing, - in Hurricane Season there should spawn a huge Glacier in the sea, with a Walruss on it, it is Mac Tusk and his son on vacation and they are hunting whales! - Mac Tusk is armed with a Harpoon (he is the reason for the Harpoon in the back of the great White Whale) and his son lures white Sharx (Sea Hounds) to the huge Glacier with fish that he throws in the sea, the white Sharx guard the Glacier like the white Hounds guard the Hunting Party - Mac Tusk will drop: 1x Meat (100%) 1x Harpoon (20%) - White Whale is still the better, but more "challenging" choice to get it 1x Tusk (50%) 1x His Hat (25%) - could be the tam o, a pirate hat or something new 5. A Sentient Surfboard for Walani - her perks are to weak at the moment, the surfboard is ok for the first 10 days, but then there are way better boat choices for her (like armored boat) - she could craft a sentient Surfboard in the magic tab, that will speak to her, similiar to Lucy the axe Crafting with Shadow Manipulator: 6x Living Logs 4x Nightmare Fuel 1x Dragoon Heart - the Sentient Surfboard has a slot for sails, so you could even combine it with a feather sail, but has no lantern/cannon slot - Walani will get 2 sanity with every wave she rides on that board (she only gains 1 sanity with her normal board) - on the Sentient Surfboard Walani will be able to ride even the big waves (she will gain 3 sanity from that) Sentient Surfboard - Durability: 111 - Speed: 7 (but can use all sailes, except iron wind and gets a bigger speed boost while riding waves) Normal Surfboard - Durability: 75 - Speed: 6,5 (can't use any sails at all, but gets a bigger speed boost while riding waves) Armored Boat - Durability: 500 - Speed: 6 (can use all sails including iron wind, but gets less speed boast while riding waves) - the board can't take a hit, but is fast as hell with a sail, you can only repair it with Nightmare Fuel (because that thing is actually alive, it is like giving it a blood transfusion) 6. Traps for the sea (like Bee Mines or Tooth Traps) - at the moment a big wave of Sharx is a real pain to deal with, if you can't find ballphins, water beefs or waste Harpoons like crazy - there should be a Seafood Mine to deal with them! - it could be similiar to coconades, but they swim in the water and explode when hostile creatures are near them (does not work on land) - you don't have to ignite the Seafood Mines and they will do more damage than coconades, the Sealnado won't activate the mines (he hovers over them) and the Tiger Shark won't swim near them...she has a coconut allergy ^^ but the sharx and whales will get slaughtered by the mines! Crafting with Alchemy Engine: 1x Gun Powder 1x Coconut 1x Seafood Gumbo Sea Food Mine - 150 damage (Sharx have 150 health) - doesn't stack (like tooth traps) - explodes when hostile creatures in the water are near them Coconade - 100 damage - doesn't stack - explodes few seconds when lit with a torch - can be thrown Obsidian Coconade - 150 damage - doesn't stack - explodes few seconds when lit with a torch - can be thrown - will ignite stuff 7. Doydoy Feather Rug - we got the Snakeskin Rug, because we swim in snakeskin, thanks Klei and Capy I like that rug - but after 50 days of Doydoy sex and a little bit of murder, we will have more feathers that we can ever use on sails or fans Crafting 1x tile of Doydoy Feather Rug with Alchemy Engine: 2x Doydoy feathers 1x Cloth - the flood won't spawn on that flooring, like on all man made flooring 8. Terror Beak of the Sea - on land we have slow and weak Crawling Horros and fast and relatively strong Terror Beaks - on sea we only have the slow and weak Swimming Horror yet, there should be a shadow creature that is fast and dangerous if your sanity gets to zero - please some suggestions from the forum members ^^ 9. Wilbur the only Monkey King - when Wilbur gets attacked all monkeys on the screen will aggro on the attacker, he is there king after all...but they are all pretty bad figthers as we know - monkeys will throw items that they picked up only to Wilbur, if Wilson or someone that isn't Wilbur feeds a monkey a banana, they won't throw there inventory at you 10. Warlys Chef Pouch - with his portable crock pot and his chef pouch Warly is predestined to be played in a nomadic play style...but who in the world plays a nomadic character without a backpack? - at the moment most people use the chef pouch as a cheap ice box, build 5-6 chef pouches and put them in there base on the ground, but that fails the idea of a nomadic character - Warly should put the Chef Pouch on his head (because it looks like a hat) and so his body slot can be used for a backpack, with a backpack for storage and his chef pouch for additional food storage at the same time - he will become the perfect nomade character and can finally use his full potential! 11. Clockworks Floaty Boaty Knights (500 health) - they should only drop 2 gears (4 are way to much) and they need desperately a meele attack, because they can't do anything if you just stand before them and beat the mechanical crap out of them - drops: 2x Gears (100%) 1x Coconade (12,5%) - same droprate as Shark Fins from Sharx Floaty Buoy Bishops (500 health) - those guys will emit light (enough to scare charly away) and will attack you with a range projectile like the normal bishops, they are completly immobile - drops: 2x Gears (100%) 1x purple Gem (100%) Floaty Rook Destroyer/Cruiser (800 health) - those are the Rooks of the sea and they will ram into everything that comes near them - they will destroy coral reefs, mangrove trees and do a high amount of damage to mobs if you lure the Rook into them - drops: 4x Gears (100%) 1x Coffee (12,5%) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/64628-11-things-shipwrecked-is-missing-yet/ Share on other sites
AnonymousKoala
All of this sounds great. So many stuff that can be added. Also underwater caves. HeilerderWelten
Personally I would really love the Kraken Boss, that reminds me of my time in Tokyo. Underwater Caves sounds really great too, but is of corse quiet a bit of work for Klei and Capy. I hope atleast some of the character perks get added... Walani, Warly and to a lesser extent Wilbur are not as interesting as the Vanilla or ROG characters yet. jj42883
i like the idea of the clockodiles, floaty bishops & floaty rook, but with all those gears (on top of what you can get already), there needs to be something more to spend it on (how many ice boxes to you really need?). if they were used to fuel / repair something mechanical/electronic (iron wind maybe?) then you would have a constant sink to spend all those gears on. Another idea to spend them on: metal walls and/or metal floors built from gears. It is super rare for an iceberg to make it to the equator (where the game is set), in real life... and while I acknowledge that this game isn't entirely realistic, basic world physics seem to be emulated fairly correctly. I do want to see MacTusk and Son make an appearance though. Perhaps they have a summer home they attend when its not winter in RoG? They could be wearing Hawaiian shirts, and big sun hats, haha! Mac Tusk would where a pirate hat and eyepatch instead of tam & monocle. Also, possible additional drop (very small percent... like krampus sack levels) would be the pirate ship itself, which would be better than any boat you could craft yourself, and only obtainable through mactusk. oldruthlace
All of these ideas are so good. Thanks for putting so much thought into the game! I'm really hopeful for clockodiles and glaciers. Picking up hail and hoarding it is tedious, and the ice maker is like being baby fed.. you don't even need gears to craft it iirc. The climate doesn't really make sense for glaciers, but it would be a nice medium. The same three floaty boaty knights that are so easy to kill and drop the same loot in triplicate was dull from the get go. Same goes for a more difficult water terror, but that being said, sea combat needs a LOT of work before that would happen successfully. I do love the idea of sea traps as a solution for sea hounds though. Maybe it could break open and spawn piranhas! (Insert Finding Nemo reference here) I love you idea for Warly's hat and Walani's sentient surfboard, but I think it would make more sense if it was a permanent item that spoke from the get go, like Woody's axe. A craftable armoured surfboard on the other hand... Made of gears yet cannot sink due to some other material? The Walrus Whunters on vacay would be awesome, but I think it would be neat to have seals instead, perhaps seal sisters? Some kind of bad ass, harpoon wielding, lady monsters would make me happy. Luponius
Clockodiles - Why not? Sound great and would fit perfectly in the game. Kraken Boss - Yeah, not too sure about the Pirate Cannon reward though, sounds like a novel weapon you probably wouldn't enjoy using all that much except for the animation. Beak Helmet - Endorse. Glaciers - I don't know whether or not these would fit, but since there's no actual Winter in the game, rather a Hurricane season, it honestly doesn't make sense to maintain something that cold in an occean following mild season when we never even reach freezing point. Walruss Whale Hunters - Heck yeah, bring them back! Walan Sentient Surfboard - This would actually make for a decent and interesting character in Shipwrecked. It's not the Walani we deserve, but it's the Walani we need! Sea Traps - Forums are buzzing with this, clearly in need of something along those lines. Doydoy Feather Rug - Sure, why not? Terror Beak of the Sea - I saw a Lochness like monster when sanity starts dropping, doesn't that do anything? It should be used as the "Terrorbeak of the seas" as I See it. Wilbur the only Monkey King - It would actually set this character apart in its own unique niche as well, which I very much like, unfortunately this would make Prime Apes a very confusing concept for many other players. Still, if they at least settle down after giving a banana and not steal any MORE stuff (even if they don't empty their inventories) I could get on board this idea, since the new characters really need some love. Clockworks - Sounds like a lot more gears dropping here, not sure if there's any use to this, we should probably vary things a bit more in terms of sea enemies, even though I feel your previous suggestions would provide a good enough distribution. Warly's Chef Pouch - Now in here I can comment for real, since all my playthroughs are strictly nomadic. Only structures I ever build (and very rarely visit) are an Alchemy Engine, Chiminea, Lightning rod and a Chest. I spend most of my time roaming, gathering, planning, exploring. I find your suggestion for Warly lacking, and the character in general simply not fit for Nomadic play. It's a valid point that the backpack shouldn't be taken away at the cost of a measly 4 slot mini-fridge, but head-slots are extremely useful as a nomad since we get to choose what we want - (Protection: Footbal Helmet, Sanity: Top Hat, Lightning Immunity: Snakeskin) If we have a pouch at all times on our heads, oddly filled with food it would honestly kill the potential to be a nomad. Not to mention the fact that a portable fridge is pointless for a nomad, as long as you know what you're doing, you'll never waste time getting so much food that it goes to waste, everything is eaten in sequence and very rarely does anything rot (only Monster Meat, which I use to farm pigskins for Wildbores). In addition to this, Warly's increased hunger may not be a deal breaker, since I enjoy Wolfgang as a nomad, but the only benefit (portable crockpot) is not really an actual boost, but rather something to partially appease his negative excess hunger. Taking Wolfgang, if you can match his increased hunger, you'll be able to CRUSH the enemies like flies, that's a massive boost that makes you feel like a true nomad, as opposed to being this overly refined chef who won't eat anything unless it's cooked just right - quite the opposite style to what I envision and expect from a nomad viable character. I'm not sure what they hoped to accomplish with Warly, and I don't hate him as a character, looks quite interesting, but having tried him and all the others as nomads, he quite honestly stinks as he stands for nomad play. A mini fridge that occupies the backslot (even if changed, still practically useless for me as a nomad), an additional portable stove that occupies one more slot in inventory, which is really a drag since you have to cook food to offset his increased hunger, which may work out to be a bit of a boost, but comes at a massive inconvenience of actually sitting and waiting for food to cook, and no real benefits to speak of. My suggestion instead is as follows: Make him cook special recipe dishes which come from the tool tab on the left, and require the portable crock pot to be out and planted, which give him some special half-day boosts to run speed or health regen or reduced hunger or combat boost and then we're talking. Also make the Chef's pouch an additional slot in the belt, carried as an extra over which a backpack or armor can still be used, sort of like the mod, allowing him to store the special ingredients in those 4 slots he would require to make the various recipes required for his craft. I still wouldn't think of him as a nomad character, but at least he would be an interesting play. Love your effort and the vast majority of the suggestions though, keep 'em coming if you have any more! Thanks. Your Ideas for Warly (additional recipes) make total sense, I like them a lot. It is true that glaciers don't make sense in Hurricane Season, but there should be a little bit more for that season, that you are actually tempted to get in your boat and face the big waves....and I just don't like how easy you get Ice with the Icemaker. ^^ If the Floaty Boaty Knights (maybe even all clockworks) would only drop 2 gears and you wouldn't encounter them in big packs like 3 of them at once, the gear problem would be solved more or less. The knights, bishops, rooks and clockodiles would be spread out more on the map, but you won't find more than 2 of them at once. (except on set pieces) That beeing said, refueling the Iron Wind with gears makes totally sense, I like that idea! The Kraken could drop something else than the Pirate Cannon (it is really a novelty...similiar to the boat cannon that barely anyone uses) Maybe he can drop something to help the player with one of the seasons (similiar to eyebrella, luxury fan or hibernation vest) or he will drop a blue print for the pirate ship on his head. (the pirate ship could be a shadow manipulator item...who knows? ^^) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/64628-11-things-shipwrecked-is-missing-yet/#findComment-725418 Share on other sites
Luponius
Valid points, no idea about Icemaker, never made it, but your suggestion I assume would require the removal of such an item? Doubt that would be considered at this point in time, unless it results in an entirely broken mechanic. The new boat prototype would be just plain awesome, especially after defeating a boss, getting an exclusive prototype would make for a very inviting prospect for endgame advancement. JimmyJam
Ok my suggestion is a little bit dark but hear me out. Cement shoes... they would be used in the armor slot but not give any armor, when worn they will drop the players speed or make it so they cant move at all. They will also make it so the new boss cant suck the player in. So you would be giving up armor and movement to not get sucked in. I know its a bit dark but they could be called something else. Six cut stone or they could be loot. What do you guys think? AnonymousKoala
Actually, to replace the glaciers with a hurricane season fitting thing, there could be vortexes or whatever they're called that will spit out consumables ONLY during Hurricane season and in the rest of the year will be in a calm state. So basically like Trawling, but unique for Hurricane Season, in unique spots. It could even have dangerous set pieces so that it won't replace trawling. (Trawling near them might also result in rarer stuff even) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/64628-11-things-shipwrecked-is-missing-yet/#findComment-725697 Share on other sites
Gingerbread
only 1 and 6 are necessary. I remember someone suggested clock-o-dials like a month ago. Others are not really something missing. Glacier in the sea idea is just ridiculous you already got ice maker and hail this is a tropical region not antarctica but ice maker should be nerfed and no glaciers please. For ice maker maybe a fuel meter so that u should add 5 logs to produce a single ice so there would be a reason to collect hail in hurricane season... Instead of RoG copies for clockwork mobs, I support gear mobs (which drops gears, name can be clock-o-dial or anything) that are unique to this game and finding them should be really hard. They should not spawn everywhere every second.... And they should not be something like a same knight on a boat. More than anything monkey drops should be nerfed.. After silly monkey ball getting food is even easier. Also pls no seaweeds in every season. Foods should be only available in certain seasons. Like monkeys should not go out of their den in certain seasons, seaweeds should disappear in certain seasons just like RoG... You can rely on a single type of food in SW which does not make sense. wilbur monkey king does not mean that he should be treated like a real king. webber is a spider too but u gotta be friend with them to help you. no need to make the game extremely easy for wilbur. Webber is a spider, they work in a queen, warriors, and normals method. Webber is a normal spider. Wilbur however, is a king. If the Prime Apes are already nice to him, one assumes that they also work by that model. He should be treated like a real king. Webber is a spider, Wilbur is a king. They're entirely different. If he is a King, he should be treated as such, they should even share their food with him. The seasons should therefore be harsh not only for Wilbur but the monkeys as well, if he's the King and his playstyle would revolve around monkeys, then give him the task of taking care of them somehow. SW characters have a great basic foundation and storyline, but a lackluster execution as it stands. All Wilbur is, at the moment is a fast, quiet character. Not bad, but not special. Gingerbread
well yeah but the title king does not mean that gameplay for wilbur should be too easy.. He is already the fastest guy in whole other chars. He got nice perks.. Also adding that kinda protection make him a too easy char... Put lotta monkey dens everywhere which is really easy to craft and u got a colony. As far as i see he got no disadvantage.. More than buffing a char to make it OP some disadvantage should be added. For example, hammering a den will cause monkeys to remain angry at you, unlike any other mob. Oh I agree he shouldn't be made to be a walk in the park character, however as it stands he's quite plain. Buffs should be given in terms of monkey interaction and negatives added to balance things out. Picking a different character in my opinion should shift entirely the meta utilized in approaching and playing the game, which for all 3 SW characters, currently, is not. I don't see anyone playing Walani as a surfer, it just doesn't make sense when better boats are available. I don't see Wilbur being played as any kind of Monkey King, unless he's self proclaimed and all the other prime apes just put up with him, and Warly sure as heck ain't a Nomad, or any special kind of "cook". RyanandLink
Instead of having underwater caves, I think it'd be much cooler to have diving! Especially since we have the climbable Vulcano now. You could craft a snorkel, or something like an oxygen tank to be able to stay under for longer! An idea: Walani gains sanity from even being on a surfboard(a bit though, so you wouldn't just stand and poof be at max sanity), and surfing restores quite some more. That with the thing maany people suggested(her suffering less or not at all from wetness), and a few more surfboards, and bam, she's not just viable, but even good. 2 minutes ago, RyanandLink said: Instead of having underwater caves, I think it'd be much cooler to have diving! Yeah as far as I'm concerned, if she's a surfer you should feel silly using anything but her surfboard, to ensure that, her surfboard, while weak (negative), should provide a greater seafaring speed (positive + unique) than any other character. Even if it means upgrading her surfboard over time to make it the fastest. Standing on the surfboard should equate to a Garland worth of sanity being provided back. Surfing over small waves should provide +3 or more sanity not +1, and that would make her a bonafide surfer, who enjoys what she does and doesn't have a care for anything else. Negatives on the other hand should be she's more susceptible to overheating, sea monsters nearby drive her insane very quickly (twice the sanity loss as anybody else) since she remembers the fate of her friends falling to such monstrosities. It's just rough ideas tossed out there, but if she's a surfer character, your primary goal should be to feel like going out to surf, make the sea fun for her. As for Warly, I honestly have no idea - I personally would give up on trying to make him a Nomad, and stick to making him a special sort of cook capable of some interesting shenanigans with his crock-pot that no other character could emulate. (temporary potion like effects or something along those lines). Walani should be like Woodie and Lucy(Sure, Lucy is not necesserily better than an axe, but she's infinite and you start with her. you don't need any other axe), but with more surfboards as options. The negatives are quite cool, add that and resistance to wetness and she has both quite good reasons to be played and reasons to think if you reaaaaalllly want to use her. In RoG however, just resistance to wetness might not be enough. Your ideas can be combined actually. Imagine his shenenigans being cheaper versions of stuff you can make. like a cheaper anti venom, that damages you a bit or takes sanity/hunger/something, while still curing you. Also, make him actually get less(noticeably less) stats from non crock pot food.
