Nitroturtle
My dupes in jet suits often seem to get stuck for several seconds doing an up and down shuffle dance. It kinda reminds me of the pathing loop that dreckos and shove voles get into, where they just go up and down. The dupes eventually go find something to do, but I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this issue. I'm curious if it's an issue with pathing for the jet suits, or if it's just another example of the job queuing choking in a late game base. I've seen dupes stand around for a few seconds before picking their next job, but I'm not seeing that in my current base yet, only this jet suit shuffle. crypticorb
I think the pathing AI is a bit buggy. I haven't seen anyone mentioning it anywhere on the forums, but maybe the devs should address pathing AI in the next major update.
Coolthulhu
I reported both jet bounce and critter bounce, so they should be aware that those bugs are happening. Though jet bounce and critter bounce seem to have totally different causes: jet bounce is most likely caused by path length calculations while critter bounce seems to be related to critters failing to cancel a path after it becomes impossible to follow. I've noticed the critter bounce happens in my sealed box as well. The voles have been in there, behind a locked door, for numerous cycles, and one vole sometimes starts humping the door. Oddly enough, it happens with dreckos too. I had a hot biome exposed to the surface for a while, and a drecko started bouncing just like voles. It only occurred at the surface, so I'm wondering if it had something to do with regolith falling, or area construction/destruction by meteorites. One other odd possibility is some kind of meteor response? Shove voles will burrow during meteor showers, so I'm wondering if this behavior is a response to that stimuli. Coolthulhu
Just now, crypticorb said: It only occurred at the surface, so I'm wondering if it had something to do with regolith falling, or area construction/destruction by meteorites. As I said: most likely its old path became impossible to follow and had to be cancelled. Door opening when the critter wants to climb it, comet destroying something on the path, a solid tile being placed on the path. May be related to slickster wiggle and pacu non-pathing, since all of those are caused at least partly by invalid updates of pathing data.
0xFADE
The slickster dance is great though.
