butters49
Ive had experience with the steam rockets no problem. Now I'm using the petroleum rocket along with a liquid fuel tank, a solid fuel thruster, and an oxylite tank. For some reason this rocket has zero range. Im assuming I'm putting something out of order. What is the correct setup for this?
tzionut
If you put petroleum only you have 0 range, if you put also oxilite or liquid oxygen, then you will have range. My guess it you fill your liquid tank whit petroleum but not whit oxidizer

gbudiman
Build oxidizer tank along with your petroleum tanks. Up to 3 petrol tanks can be paired with 1 oxidizer tank. Limit the oxidizer amount as unused oxidizers are practically burned upon return. And beware of the oxidizer tank bug.
suicide commando
Also don't use a solid fuel booster, petrol rockets become less efficient with them.
Pagox
I had a lot of problems with rockets. I was not sure how and where to put the gantry. I didn't know my astronaut dupe is gone, as long as I doesn't switch him with another astronaut. I wish I had a warning. I wanted to shorten the rocket, so I destructed my command capsule which always crashes my game. I installed a solid fuel booster over a Research Module. My rocket couldn't reach any asteroid than. The data in the rocket menu are bit confusing. I destroyed the solid fuel booster again, but my rocket still wasn't able to reach any asteroid . I reloaded and it was able to reach the asteroid now. Angpaur
I have a question regarding rocket launching, but I don't want to create seprate topic. So as far I know if there are some tiles in way of starting rocket the tiles will be destroyed. But this means all mass of tile is lost or like mining only 50%? Or maybe all mass is kept and remains of tile are just dropped down to place where rocket started from ?

As for now you can`t launch if there are tiles blocking. It`s possible to start while the regolith from open doors above is falling and before it forms tiles. When it lands on regolith tiles it digs them up. When it breaks the bunker doors it destroys them (doesn`t make them broken just outright removes them) i`m pretty sure it removes some or all of the steel used to buld them as i had less steel every time that happened. Nitroturtle
I discovered yesterday that it will actually allow you to build tiles on the outermost squares above the engines. Basically, everything except the engines is only 5 tiles wide, where engines are 7. You can build tiles on either side as long as they are below the command capsule and it doesn't complain. But they get destroyed when you launch. It's likely a bug, as above or beside the command capsule seems to recognize the obstuction.
Cantouki
Any workaround to fill the exact amount of oxilite instead of 2700kg for the Oxidizer Tank? Any fix for the Solid Fuel Thruster that stays full on return?
