4 research stations. 4 super computers

Recommended Posts

I just discovered you can spam research stations and have the whole tech tree researched by cycle 40 lol (not included the rocketry stuff). I have 7 dupes all of them are in the scientist job and half are tenured scientists now.

I've just put building the main base on hold while everything is researched.

This also means that all of my starting dupes will have high learning having mastered the science field first. And they will acquire new skills at a much higher rate once i start diversifying their jobs. It's really cool making up a roleplay in my head that it's a science expedition and they're all smart as **** and about to specialise and get their mission underway lmao. Like they arrived, researched the planet. Now they're initiating their plans.

Gives you a lot of time to plan out your base while the dupes are researching everything at x3 speed setting as well lol.

It`s nice to have the tech early but keep in mind you won`t have the materials to fully utilize it till later in the game. You`ll have 4 dupes doing research while nobody is doing the digging, delivering or building up your base.

Another thing is that tenured scientists have high morale requirements. If you want them early you need some high quality food, decor and a proper room design.

The point is to have all of your starting dupes with 10-15 learning points by cycle 50. Then you have an army of super smart dupes that grow their skills exponentially lol. It's weird because when I use a single dupe to research everything, they usually end up with a comparable learning stat. Basically 2 dupes researching will get more experience overall than a single dupe for the same amount of researching. And thats true for 8 dupes too because all of my dupes have OP  learning stat by cycle 50

This is the easiest game I've had so far. I'm on cycle 150 now. The dupes have such high skills in everything. THey're like speed demons and no one gets stressed because they're so fast at literally everything. It's like they're so good at every job they fix all hte problems before it's bad enough that it starts stressing them.

I've not had a dupe have a stress response yet. (I did end up running out of water for a while and had to go on a massive dig into 3 biomes to get to the ice biome) But they were so fast at it.

100% recommend focusing on getting every dupe to the highest learning stat they can achieve as fast as possible. Just because of how fun it is lol. I had 6 dupes as level 3 scientists by the time i finished the tech tree at around 40-45 cycles and 4 more dupes level 1 and 2 scientists. They're I immediately put them into the tidying and cleaning jobs once they hit 100% as level 3 scientists. They're all monsters now lmao. High learning, high strength, high speed.

I've only just started to diversify them into specialised jobs, like farming etc. lmao. It's like a Super-dupe training course where you end up with hulk dupes really early in the game.

TL;DR

>get 8 dupes
>max scientist job tree
>max supply job tree
>max cleaning job tree
(in that order)
????
profit

Still no totally conviced that it's worth it. At first it's present set of own difficulties: need more power, more oxygen, more food per generic exploration/building/work done. Is it enough coal, algea at starting biome to rush research on all 8 dupes? And you have to deal with tentured scientist high morale at cycle 50, when you hadnt any quality food, room ect. May be you just had a lucky game start?

P.S. Or may be it just works and i'm been pessimist.

Added: on cycle 1100+ my starter researcher (17 learning) has max athletics (all other "0-learning" dupes also has max athletics) and mayby +2 str compared to other "generic" dupes. Pretty much all skills of all dupes regardles of their learning stat on the same level. Some specialised dupes even have higher digging or construction compared to starter researcher. Sooo... does learning stat help so much in a long run? I don't see it.
