The engies tune up should have the same priority as the power control station. Currently it doesn`t resulting in dupes crafting the microchips and leaving them on the ground and only upgrading the generators when no other tasks are available (since most of my tasks are above 5 priority). You can`t assign priority to nat gas or petroleum generators, maybe it should be possible.

I`m tempted to post this as a bug but i`m not sure if it qualifies as one.

This is definitely a problem. One thing I would like to add is I think the tune-up buff should only decrease while the generator is running. I don't see why it should decrease while you have your generators disabled in-order to be more efficient.

Because of these two issues with tune-ups, I rarely use the power station in-order to conserve refined metal in early game. Then late game I just completely automate energy production on a scale where I don't need to worry about tuning up my generators.

Station both crafts chips and makes room into 'power room'. Realistically we need only one station, yet we are forced to have multiple. And if room have couple generators all of those will be 'tuned up'. So if we want to preserve materials and not to 'tune up' generator that is not working (it looks like microchips expire in a 1 cycle even if genrator was not working), we have to make even more power rooms with more stations.

This whole system is unflexible and flawed. Would have been much better to have a single crafting station and some kind of separate facility for creating room. Like this for example:

  • Current Power station. Crafts microchips and 'fuses'. Can be placed anywhere.
  • Fuse station/box. When placed in a room creates power room, can control room's service priority. Has microchip and fuse storage. Power input and output. When network is overloaded, shuts down and blows a fuse)
  • Microchips should last longer or indefinitely when generator is not in use (this way we won't need separate priorities per generator). Alternatively 'fuse box' can be used not for room priority, but for 'connected generator' priority, if generator is not connected to a fuse box in same room it won't be serviced.

Imo the best would be to connect the power control station to the power wire and ti could the craft chips usable for all generators on that wire.

But that still doesn`t fix the main problem which is tune up having a separate priority from the power control station and the job not getting done ever.
