It used to purely be that way.  And it is at low temperatures.  But in days of yore, liquid tepidizers were secretly blast furnaces.  I achieved temperatures of over 4000 C in a matter of seconds on a tile of 1 g chlorine.  They rightly decided this was bad, so they "fixed" it by adding temperature clamps to prevent this behavior.  So if the air around the machine is hotter than a certain temperature, it immediately cools down to the clamp temp.  I thought they had only applied it to the tepidizer and space heater, but apparently its applied to the generators too.  I personally never explored using this behavior because I thought it was cheap.  But I guess I should explore it.  At the very least so I know how to avoid it.

This explains why in one of my games my hydrogen generators cooled themselves to 75°C in a 100°C atmosphere. Thanks for that information, @Zarquan

That is nothing... My wheezeworths cool beyond -60 degrees :)...I put 2 in a nat gas vent to cool the incoming nat gas and i find nat gas at -67 degrees :)

I am pretty sure they cool to -67 naturally, or somewhere near there, it has never been -60 since I have used them.
