_Q_
We can kill spiders, spider queen and that's it, there is nothing more living in world of Don't Starve, and spiders are quite boring after a while. My question is will we get something new?Beefalos rise in numbers, they are great source of meat, but something else should hunt on them, world needs more monsters than spiders, one of the ideas is hounds living in the wild, with full life cycle like beefalos. We could have some wild cats, dogs, maybe even some snakes. More predators. Whats with tallbirds on the new map I can't find them at all?
Cryten
I certainly agree that the game needs more variety of regular enemie. However with houds, killer bees, tall birds and nightmares I dont think its fare to say its spider alone. Its just that spiders are the ever expanding threat where everything else is manageable. _Q_
I can't find the tallbirds, and if I find them there is 2 of them at max. Hounds are coming form time to time, can be funny sometimes. But most of the time you just hunt for spiders. I cleared few maps form all spider nests, I'm little fed up with spiders:PI want know is some new monsters, beside that winter king are coming to the world. Silvi
I found a few tallbirds on the new patch map but now that there aren't as many spiders, the world suddenly feels empty. I feel removing the OVERSPAWN of spiders was a good idea, but we need a new mob to fill in the void.
TalentedM
I feel removing the OVERSPAWN of spiders was a good idea, but we need a new mob to fill in the void.Didn't we just get a bunch of rough and tough mobs with insanity?
Silvi
Didn't we just get a bunch of rough and tough mobs with insanity?True but:- they only show up if you are insane enough- they're hardly animals and they don't attack beefalo I meant natural threats LIKE spiders. More animals to ker-slaughter that would also be some kind of natural enemy to the overbreeding beefalo. I find myself wishing something hunted beefalo down, their populace is mostly way out of control after day 60 (unless they fixed that with a patch, though my day 63 save has beefalo everywhere around my camp, it's a bit scary.) BrokenCrown
All we need is a new mob type, similar to spiders, something to hunt and be hunted by.Spiders are in fixed positions, start off small and easy to handle, this is motivation to hunt and kill them early. What we need is a similar mob that is the opposite in initiation.Something big, something that wanders...Something that we can't possibly defeat with just a spear, a log suit, and good timing...Something that eats beefalo in small numbers and has a hard time seeing through bush shaped hats. And is allergic to bees (bee mines as a weakness for something)? Spazmatic
I agree there should rise a new predator, one that is a threat for both the player and the local wildlife.Hopefully winter will give us something else, besides Deerclops,to be afraid of.
