Neotuck
I have been experimenting in debug mode to see if it was possible to build a sleet wheat greenhouse that was warm enough to keep the farmer comfortable without using a warm sweater or exosuit. Here is what I came up with and after letting it run for about 50 cycles Bubbles hasn't gotten the chilly surroundings stat once! The coolant source is a slush geyser that cools the petroleum under the hydroponic farm tiles at -5C, flow is controlled by automation to keep it at -5C Space heaters are automated at 40C 25C water is irrigated with are insulated with abyssalite so the water doesn't warm up the petroleum or get frozen in the pipes. 25C O2 is pumped in the top controlled by atmosphere switch set to 1000 g This is a thermal comfort overlay picture, the closer to grey the more comfortable dupes are Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/92690-heated-sleet-wheat-greenhouse/ Share on other sites
WanderingKid
What are your automation settings for the sleet wheat? I've been having a frustrating time with some of the builds I've tried as they can't split the rail towards desired storage. I just keep one sweeper arm in range of all the grills, mushers, and refrigerators Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/92690-heated-sleet-wheat-greenhouse/#findComment-1056425 Share on other sites

Sleet Wheat is better helped by having dirt delivered to it now from the sweepers, but I wasn't sure if you were picking up wheet and delivering dirt in the same rail system. I haven't seen a dupe get "chilly surroundings" debuff in 0C oxygen/CO2/pO2/anything-that-isn't-liquid-or-hydrogen in quite a long time. I haven't made a dupe wear a sweater since agricultural update. Are you sure it's the heating and not just the standard mechanics? Denisetwin
Can I ask, I've never built conveyors before as I thought they would use so much energy. So now I get that the arm uses energy only when active, does the loader run the entire time something is on the rails or only when it first goes on the rail? Trying to plan this out since power is still scarce right now in my base while the dupes work on my first try at oil boiler and if this isn't too power hungry could save some dupe time. Only when first goes on the rail. When already on the rail it just like pipes, but for solid materials. Neotuck
Loader only uses power when it loads items on a rail. If it's empty or the rail is backed up and unable to load items it doesn't draw power Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/92690-heated-sleet-wheat-greenhouse/#findComment-1056695 Share on other sites
