Silvi
It may sound redundant, but I kinda wish we could craft a simple road sign (the shape of a plank with < on one side), as sometimes I don't want to switch to the map view to check which way to go next, it kinda breaks the enjoyment when I have to do that.- craftable from logs and rope (1 log, 1 rope)- a no-research-necessary buildable - Maybe able to give it short notes that would show up when it's examined? (I just picture myself writing "DEATH" on a sign pointing towards a marsh)that's all.
TalentedM
I thought the same thing but have them show up on the map like markers that you wright notes on. This way you can mark what exit/entrence for wormholes are and where towns/pig towns are... Also a bunch of other random uses just for you to figure out. Still, even if they didn't show up on the map, I'd love to see that little addition.

llikazuchill
I agree with this simple yet special idea that could be very handy with or without a map. There was a suggestion earlier about replacing the map with a compass and then you could craft the map yourself with papyrus (to give that item a lil more use) and... stuff.. whatever. If that could be implemented, road signs fits perfectly in the game Also the idea made me think about mailboxes and taught of something creepy yet challenging suggestion that fits perfectly in the latest update "Insanity" haha. daztora
yes yes yes!!, having an exit/entrance sign on a wormhole now they cause you to go insane would be handy if you forgot which was which +
horatio_svetlana
I support this idea, let's figure it out a bit.-1 board, 1 rope.-4 (?) letters. With the new research system you basically can only gather resources until you build a science machine, then an alchemy engine. So there's three tiers of building. I think tier two would be good for signs with boards and rope, because you can't dig things up and build a base til tier two.Letters from the keyboard is a system the internet has invented new languages with. The idea being that whenever a player crafted a signpost that it would also appear on the map. Now whether or not the intention was to then let players "read" the signposts from the map, who can say, but I wouldn't mind being able to do that too.I agree with this simple yet special idea that could be very handy with or without a map. If that could be implemented, road signs fits perfectly in the game Yes, I'm not sure if it was me or another forum member who suggested it first. I know the idea of crafting the map was suggested by someone else, but I may have mentioned the compass. I recall someone complaining about not knowing which direction their map was facing so they wanted to know which way was "North"... then the suggestion evolved from there. Also the idea made me think about mailboxes and taught of something creepy yet challenging suggestion that fits perfectly in the latest update "Insanity" haha. That would remind me too much of Animal Crossing. I would keep mailing Maxwell fruit in hopes he would send me a new one I didn't have so I could plant it... Letters from the keyboard is a system the internet has invented new languages with. Maybe we wouldn't need to display the letters/numbers on the signpost... maybe you read a signpost by clicking on it and having your character read it. That way we could add a lot more letters/numbers on signposts.
horatio_svetlana
The less letters the less cumbersome it becomes. And immediately readable sign posts sound more appealing to me.

And immediately readable sign posts sound more appealing to me.True, but the trade off is that you can only use a few letters. If the Devs went down this path I would hope we could get up to 5-6 letters and/or 2 lines. Similar to the signposts in Minecraft (which allow 3 rows, but that wouldn't work here). However I still feel the signposts should appear on, and be readable from, your map. Silvi
I agree with the plank idea - had a brain woosh there when I mentioned log as the ingredient.I'd hope we coudl use at least 5-6 letters, also I just thought about something. When the map is turned around the < > in names would become obsolete... so we woudl have to be able to either craft 4 types of sign (pointing in all 4 EWNS directions) or be able to spin buildables... Now that you mention it, objects don't really have a "front" and a "back" and all that stuff. When you spin the view, the objects spin, too...
