ColBBQ
Just noticed that the Pacus and Shinebugs lays eggs in the wild and die off a few cycles later, wonder if this is intentional. FIXBUGFIXBUGFIX
Glad to hear that wild creature now will die for starving correctly, but I don't know why wild creature lay eggs. May be a new feature, or just a exploit. Would you like to post it in bug tracker? ColBBQ
Don't think it a bug since the eggs are incubating without the required device. Very slowly but they hatch in the wild. The only weird part about this is that you can feed the wild ones but they die anyways Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/89978-pacus-and-shinebugs-dying-in-the-wild/#findComment-1027760 Share on other sites
KittenIsAGeek
I tamed some shine bugs for the extra stats. Critters now appear to have a lifespan. I'm assuming this means that wild critters have a lifespan as well. BlueLance
Wild critters have a lifespan and all reproduce, Hatches at a rate of 2% per cycle, I noticed this after all my shinebugs laid eggs, i put them in fridges and by the time they hatched the adult shinebugs had already died. It seems that refrigerating the eggs does not stop them incubating, Eggs do not rot either, but will incubate on the floor now. Edit - This actually has the upside of stopping your game being overcrowded by wild critters, and also gives you MEAT I broke into a chlorine filled room and there were bits of meat everywhere haha Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/89978-pacus-and-shinebugs-dying-in-the-wild/#findComment-1027806 Share on other sites

If wild creature can die for starving it's normal that baby can born Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/89978-pacus-and-shinebugs-dying-in-the-wild/#findComment-1027812 Share on other sites
BlueLance
I don't think they die from starving in the wild, I have left some for a while and they seem alright, also remember the Pacu fish eats Algae, but there is none for it to eat in the wild. I think they only die from old age and reproduce accordingly. What I did notice is you can transport the egg instead of the critter which means if you find a slickster egg you can reproduce them easily. BlueLance
Agreed, it stops the numbers from overwhelming you, but what I really like is the fact you could eventually end up with a wild morph outside of your tames and then you need to decide is it a pest or a friend. This is the life cycle, creature make egg and die, and the new fish come, make egg and die, etc. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/89978-pacus-and-shinebugs-dying-in-the-wild/#findComment-1027874 Share on other sites
