Oozinator
That was really fun to do and it works nice. When the dupe is triggering the pressure plate, way to bottle emptier is cut off and dupe drops the bottle. Rest is a standard boilerdesign with cooling. The special bonus +++ positive effect of that Bottocookinator ™ is: Magma stays in the bottle and not giving piles of ingenous rock. Heat transfers well. Dupes can carry magmabottles very easy, in one travelroute, when bottles are cooled down and empty it somewhere else, very easy (dupeproof). That thing is cooking enough NG for ten bases, when i give my brave dupes the order to do so. Kabrute
would you be so kind as to try this without opening the pneumatic doors? I don't think mesh doors hold up items so you may be able to cut out the need for that automation Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/89042-the-bottocookinator-%E2%84%A2-a-smart-way-to-cook-oil-with-magmabottles/#findComment-1018979 Share on other sites

Others construct massive storage rooms out of lava and i am not allowed to open pneumatic doors? Kabrute
it is less about permissions, wanted to see if was needed or not is all. Simple to snip one wire to test or simply say no I was just curious if the doors had to be opened or not. No. That's the best part Even when completely cooled down, you could empty them, with a bottle emptier. Lifegrow
This is odd because magma bottles always turned into pieces of igneous if they cooled too much while in transit... Another change I've missed at some point Nice idea. Vilda
1 hour ago, Lifegrow said: they cooled too much while in transit... Few updates back there was a problem with dupes stack in loop with bringing small amounts of ic which then melted in transit. So I guess the change was no temperature change for items in transit. Olimar
I've never toyed with magma and this idea is encouraging me to try it out. Neato! Would be so nice, when it would be possible to drop waterbottles and use them in the same way. Let them heat up and then feed steam engine with hot bottles of steam.. PW and W bottles are not working, they emitt content when heated. cpy
Hmm I think my minor volcano can probably make me some extra lava right? (Edit: not 100% gold is untested!)But when you do so, then create an isolated room for the volcano first, make it vacuum (no heat transfer/air). Hold that room clean!!!!!!"131§!!§13°! Every smallest puddle of liquid (emitt) could quick cause chaos. When you use something like liquid gold/magma and it turns to solid, dupes have to remove it(dig sweep), from time to time. Be 109% sure that they don't carry superhot material into your base ^^ Exos could melt! I use submerged lockers prio 9 only sweep order and then when a new cycle starts, i do it in quick rush with prio 8 sweep command. Be aware, the path where your dupes travel with that hot stuff, when there is a small puddle of oil, it will convert through heat (clean up system, tidy omnom). Create a new save file "save as" and call it "crazy changes" as backup, then use another save to play further.. When you use such a system, keep in mind to isolate pipes, or kill heat before transport..
