  1. This is very bad news. I'm just happy that this happened AFTER losing interest in the ONI main game and BEFORE having my interest potentially reignited by the new DLC as it makes boycotting Klei very easy. I feel foolish for having sung Klei's praises as often as I did and praising them for being the "good guys" of the games industry. I'm under no illusion that they'll miss neither my wallet nor my support considering "Players in China make up a large proportion of the players of our games..." but I'm out regardless. As a digital artist myself I wish the technical and creative staff at Klei all the best.
  2. Sounds like a lot of hard work has been going on over there...thank you so much. Quick question: will the beta branch have the usual background data tools that cause slowdowns? Because that might offset the perceived performance improvements.
  3. This and a lot of the other updates are pure bliss! I love that Klei are at the point of tidying up a lot of these loose ends. As for performance optimisations they mentioned somewhere in the previous update post that they’re working on it. If I know Klei the way I think I know Klei then I think I know they’ll do their darndest to squeeze every last bit of juice out of this puppy. It might not be enough puppy juice for everyone but it’ll be something. Either way they have said it’s important to them.
  4. Congratulations to the best game development team going. I’ve loved every second of being part of this community during the early access, from the live streams to eagerly anticipating each and every update, bug fix, and rollback!! Big love to Klei and the ONI community.
  5. Agree with others: Like removal of fixed temp outputs. Dislike mínimum fixed temp output. (40°) I understand they want to avoid making the game too easy but this simply doesn’t make any logical sense.

  7. Been here since the beginning but this is the first time I’ve opted into the testing branch. There are so many amazing things to talk about, from all the subtle animations that bring the whole thing to life, to the insane coding that brings it all together. Klei has a team of absolute bloody geniuses pouring their heart and soul into this and it shows. But I really wanted to give an extra bonus BIG LOVE to the music, especially to the new musical scores which are giving me intense Blade Runner vibes. So thanks for being awesome. Gotta run...Gossman has just pi**ed all over the mushroom farm.

  10. All sounds very exciting and promising but I'm also curious about the specifics eg. Storage Compactors optimised to reduce the bla bla bla, or path finding bla bla to reduce the bla bla technical bla etc. Performance improvements is the part I'm most passionate about at the moment as the lag is killing my enjoyment of one of the greatest games I've played in recent history. Love this game and love you guys at Klei! Thank you.
  11. I'm glad to see that someone else has experienced the same mayhem that I have. My dupes also started dying from a lack of oxygen IN my fully oxygenated base just because they decided to stand still in some CO2 that had accumulated at the bottom. It seemed to happen when I was working over at a different part of the map and not keeping an eye on them. Might be related but I find now that the game runs quicker when I don't have the camera over my base...which made me think if less calculations are happening in areas outside of the camera.

  13. Perhaps this is a feature and I didn't have the right equipment to collect it but I had 10 dupes idle in an otherwise spotless base ignoring a priority level 9 on the sweep command for abyssite.
  14. I agree. It's such an important feature in the game that it needs to be quicker and more convenient to use
  15. After a few hours of play the game begins to lag. I'm not sure if it's related to the length of time I'm playing or the complexity of the scene. At first I thought it was my laptop: Macbook Pro 2012 - playing in bootcamp: Windows 7 ...but exiting the game and reloading seemed to help for a while.
