Technoincubus
Advancing to tenured Scientist puts you into a disadvantage. Because without tenured scientists you see a red icon, marking geysers, including buried geysers, which could be hard to locate because you can identify them only by moving cursor over or by three tiles of neutronium, which could be easily mistaken for other mineral. But if you explore with unpromoted scientists, you have a clear indication of hidden geysers. Simplest solution, IMO, would be to keep an icon, with something like "not analized" or something. At least then players would have a reason to promote scientists, as they only letting you know about dormancy status. Saturnus
There has never been a good reason to make a permanent tenured scientist. Food expectation goes up once the job is mastered so just avoid ever making a tenured scientist (or mecha engineer) and you'll generally be better off. There's only one top tier occupation that carries any real benefit and that's exosuit engineer but realistically you can negate that by just having docking stations closer to the work area and avoid that too. Or you can just temporarily promote dupes when needed to perform digging in exosuits like tenured scientist for analysing geyser and mecha engineers for building conveyor systems. Also note that once the red icon becomes visible from the fog of war, this is also the time when the geyser type is determined. You can save scum and get exactly the geyser you like by just reloading the game to before it was discovered, and rediscover it. Rinse and repeat until you get the geyser you want. travaldofan
just open the temperature overlay to find geyser. ez Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88603-advancing-to-tenured-scientists-is-a-disadvantage/#findComment-1014083 Share on other sites
PhailRaptor
Trying to find Geysers? Follow the Neutronium. They all have it. Can't speak to the new Geysers, but all the old ones, the Neutronium is usually cold, too. Easy to spot on Thermal Overlay. Sometimes all of the tiles, sometimes inly one or two. Bjt otherwise you can do this to some degree especially if they fix it Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88603-advancing-to-tenured-scientists-is-a-disadvantage/#findComment-1014115 Share on other sites

Zarquan
I max out all my professions because I pride myself on running a colony of opportunity, where all duplicants will be given the rank and benefits they have earned through their hard work. Also, it's part of my challenge in game. Also, tenured scientists have a higher learning, so they can become super duplicants much faster.
