link12313
It's a simple idea, A gas pump that acts just like the pitcher pump and outputs the gas bottles you see in game sometimes when you break a building with gas in it. Player 2
interesting idea lad! just fairly unhelpful unless something needs a bottled gas Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88314-gas-bottler/#findComment-1011181 Share on other sites
Taryn
I would love this! A good early game solution for transporting unwanted gases out of your base Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88314-gas-bottler/#findComment-1011475 Share on other sites
Zarquan
I think since there are gas bottles in the game, there should be a gas bottler and a gas bottle emptier just for completeness. I think it could be useful. I can think of a few use cases off the top of my head: You have a gas bottler in one area and you put a oxygen emptier in one area, you can have oxygen tanks hand delivered to an area that is too remote for piping to be practical. You could more easily make CO2 and hydrogen locks by moving the CO2 to an area without having to build a pipe. You could move those annoying gas bottles around without debug mode. ImpalerWrG
Only really obvious use I could see would be manually filling a Suit Dock with oxygen. Their would need to be similar means of manually putting gases into things for it to be of much use. Also I'm wondering how you control what kind of gas this bottler bottles, the area would have to be saturated with the desired gas or else your throwing out lots of bottles of unwanted stuff. I'm more inclined to think that large storage bottle buildings for gas that we can pipe gas into and out of are a better addition to the game so we don't need to use rooms to store all gas. server075
that would be a great way to move gas by hand (or dupe) =) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88314-gas-bottler/#findComment-1012599 Share on other sites
TheScaryOne
Gas bottlers need to be filled by vents, and can only hold 40kg of gas in a 1x2 building. This facilitates moving gas bottles around (I like the moving oxygen idea) without making them too OP. I feel like door compressors are an intended gas storage method, which will make even more sense when automated doors use power. Elendiar
Is not it now possible to do this by liquefying gas in cooling towers, and using with simple butler? Or from the floor to collect? This is all now realizable ... Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88314-gas-bottler/#findComment-1013183 Share on other sites
Player 2
well, I guess it can work, the only things I got in mind for it are simple things really. wait... why not a oxyrizer ( the devs call "oxylite" "oxyrock" ) this machine will super compress gases and / or liquids into a rock, allowing a cleansed spread of oxygen, chlorine or even freaking WATER. would be a cool addition, all you need is to recolor oxylite! oxylizer.tif Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88314-gas-bottler/#findComment-1013196 Share on other sites

sakura_sk
Bottling and unbottling gases could be helpful in early controlled greenhouse atmospheres, either for minimum pressure or building a specific gas atmosphere (e.g. chlorine) without building a bunch of ventilation systems and drawing too much energy to sustain the gas pumps+filters Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88314-gas-bottler/#findComment-1013270 Share on other sites
Player 2
yes, but this does seem a little op, correct? move CO2 to a place with a carbon skimmer, move natural gas to a gas generator, it seems to powerfull. or its just me Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88314-gas-bottler/#findComment-1013417 Share on other sites
