O2 to EXO suit buggy?

Recommended Posts

?O2 suppy to exo suit dock is buggy?

Guys, can some one smarter than me confirm/deny?

STEPS

Build 10+ dock and pipe o2 to it.  Watch it.

I have tried many different pipe 'shapes' and arrangements.   Something seems to be going on.  (loss of O)

I tried to take some screen shots......game crashed. lol

Imagine a Menorah  stuck upside down .

Kinda like that

That's how I fed 14 docks.

They started filing slowly....with O2 only using the extreme left side of the pipes.

It seemed only 4-5 docks were getting O2.

I have seen O2 flow EQUALLY to all docks on a 6 dock build....that is what i wanted to see, but can live with out. (As long as all get filled)

So I connected them more.... horizontally

This caused O2 to run straight down the middle and the extreme right 4 docks to flash "no O2"

IN addition, only 7 or so docks got any O2 over 2 hours of game play.    Are they just that slow to fill???  (Pump was dedicated, and was pumping from VERY HIGH oxygen room, ie never run out, power was never off)

I always have trouble (Purchased game DEC 15 2017) getting O2 to 7+ docks.

Multiple pumps make no difference

Do NOT make loops on pipes. Pipes may branch into two or three, but not merge again. You have many loop in your design.

I'll try to make an example how it could look like to work.

Here you are:

I can also see you have two pipes to supply oxygen, but they both seem to be rather empty. Perhaps there's just one pump at each? In such case you should probably merge them to one.

If the total of the two pipes may exceed 1 kg/s, you may just split the docks between them.

But these things depend on what exactly is at the other end of those two pipes.

And of course, you may have simply supply < demand problem. Assuming these suits are used a lot, 19 docks may need constant supply of up to 1900 g/s of oxygen. The two pipes you have are capable of delivering it but they don't seem to be delivering that much, it looks like it's around 600 g/s. That might just not be enough.

As kasuha said, it's not buggy.  It's just that all those little looping interconnects are confusing the heck out of the path finding for the gas packets.  Use the branched pipes like he showed and all of the docks will receive equal number of packets (roughly)

Imagine if somebody gave you this image and told you you should go from top to each of the stations, find all the ways to there.

That is basically what the game engine is doing, which is unnecessarily complicated and way too time consuming.

You're taking pipe from the right and feeding it to them via a serial line, and then making that weird maze on the left pipe; no wonder it gets confused finding its way to the end point.

Anyways, here's some suggestions:

1-Don't get more than 16-20 dupes.

2-Avoid loops and complicated graphs like this

3-Make trees instead of looped graphs

4-Make smaller stations, and make 1 electrolyzer + 1 filter + 1 gas pump for 3 exo-stations

5-Add 2 filtered oxygen pipes to 1 gas pipe line (1000g/s)

6-Disable the checkpoint, let it feed the oxygen to exo-stations, then re-enable the checkpoint.
